No, I take that back - you're an excellent story-teller, something I think takes a bit more craft and sensitivity than merely writing.

It's your story - tell it at your own pace, and let yourself fall into the natural rhythm of it, like a song not coaxed, but lured from a guitar.

I've no doubt that when you tell the tale, you will tell it exceedingly well.
