Rasmussen: 22% Believe Bush Knew About 9/11 Attacks in Advance (another 22% not sure)
22% Believe Bush Knew About 9/11 Attacks in Advance
Friday, May 04, 2007

Democrats in America are evenly divided on the question of whether George W. Bush knew about the 9/11 terrorist attacks in advance. Thirty-five percent (35%) of Democrats believe he did know, 39% say he did not know, and 26% are not sure.

Republicans reject that view and, by a 7-to-1 margin, say the President did not know in advance about the attacks. Among those not affiliated with either major party, 18% believe the President knew and 57% take the opposite view.

Overall, 22% of all voters believe the President knew about the attacks in advance. A slightly larger number, 29%, believe the CIA knew about the attacks in advance. White Americans are less likely than others to believe that either the President or the CIA knew about the attacks in advance. Americans are more likely than their elders to believe the President or the CIA knew about the attacks in advance.

However, just 8% of voters say the CIA was Very Truthful before the War in Iraq. Another 33% believe the CIA was Somewhat Truthful. Most, 52%, believe the CIA was Not Very Truthful or Not at All Truthful before the War.

2. The Democratic poll numbers are quite interesting
The repug numbers would include the 30% or so of the population that still support bush, which probably overlaps with the 25% who believe the second coming of Jesus is going to happen this year.

3. These are kind of puffed rice polls. I mean, who cares? Anyway, 22% probably think the moon
landings were faked. In fact, you could probably get close to that % on just about anything.

6. Could be.
The thing that got me (beside the 22% that said he knew) was the 22% that were not sure. Only 55% believe he knew nothing about it before it happened. This is from a poll that always lean way to the right.

4. Time for the "media" to ask the question that should have been asked every day since 9/12/01
"Why did you sit and do nothing after being told the US was under attack?"

I, for one, would like for him to answer that. Without his earpiece...

7. I second that question and raise you this: How many actual terror attacks have you provably thwarted
and how many have the CIA thwarted?".
Bonus question: How many attacks could the CIA have thwarted if you hadn't thwarted them?

Now we're getting to the disgusting, creamy center...

5. The question is flawed, as demonstrated by the discrepancy of "who" knew,

ie, bush, or the CIA.

A better question would be, Was 9/11 an inside job?

I think it was, at least to the extent that the accused hijackers and their associates obviously got repeated aid and help from people inside our government before 9/11.

Was the aid directly given to facilitate the attacks? I think that in some cases, yes it was, and in some cases it may have been provided to facilitate heroin smuggling from Afghanistan, or to cultivate informants.

Another good question would be, "Was the 9/11 commission inquiry a white wash?" There again I believe the answer is yes. And that was certainly an inside job (Osama didn't control the commission) which is of course adding and abetting after the fact and makes those responsible for the white wash fully culpable in the original crime.

8. I disagree. Cheney left him out of the loop. Junior had a vague idea Cheney
had something in the works so he could have his wars, but junior had no idea what it might be. That's why he sat there in the classroom with a dumbfuck look on his face. He realized they actually went ahead and did it. Then when he also realized Cheney might be looking to take him out too, he took off like a jackrabbit and went looking for a hole to hide in.

The Commander Guy wasn't very commanding on 9/11.

According to Gallup, only slightly more than half of the Lutherans, Methodists, and Presbyterians believe in the devil, while roughly the same numbers accept ESP. Fifty-six percent of the Lutherans and 49 percent of the Methodists believe in UFOs. A third of the Methodists and 31 percent of the Presbyterians believe in astrology.

13. I still have not made up my mind
whether Bush knew or or not and it all stems from me not deciding whether Bush is really a complete dumbass or whether that is all an act

I lean toward him being a complete dumb ass and being used by Cheney and the other Neo-Cons as their good-ol-boy face. In this scenario, Bush does not know.

I think there is strong evidence that Cheney knew.

doubt themselves?
