No offense to New Mexico, but they already have a Democratic Governor (Bill Richardson). Texas has neither a Democratic Governor nor any Democratic Senators, and we could sure use your help to fix that.

I'd love to visit Arizona again. I want to roll down Route 66 and visit the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. But doing so at this time would be problematic, at least until that "Your Papers, Please" law is summarily repealed and stomped into little tiny bits.

1. Reminds me of the 2004 Presidential election, when Al Franken, who was still on AirAmerica,

was "encouraging" folks who lived in blue states to move to a red state..for a while anyway. Just so they could vote for President, and perhaps turn a red state blue for the election.

2. As screwed up as Texas is sometimes...
...we don't ask you for your citizenship papers here. And we used to be an independent republic back in the day. If we can handle not asking anyone for their papers, what the hell is up with Arizona?

8. No kidding! Our border w/Mexico is 3 times longer than theirs - WTF is their problem?
I know we have our crazies too, but this crap would never pass in Texas.
Our latinos have way more clout in this state.

Come on over my fellow Dems! We're just 2 doors down!

11. what hasn't been talked about much is redistricting. It's boring but ends up being important.
Texas can have a large left-leaning population but if those people's voice is diluted by districting- too bad.

13. It's not getting the press coverage that it deserves...
...but yeah, there are some Democrats in Texas who have been discussing this at great length. This election could be more important for our state than the 2008 Presidential election - at least as far as the next 10 years are concerned.

4. Nah, we've been a republic before - we do better as a state
Come on down to Amarillo. Never been there myself, but maybe I can make the trip to cheer you on at the steakhouse.

9. WE should have built the Large Hadron Collider...
...but too many project leaders got greedy, and too many legislators on Capitol Hill got cold feet.
