Condolences to Yazoo City/Miss. Du'ers.
JACKSON, Miss. --
More...http://www.wapt.com/news/23254518/detail.html
A possible tornado swept across Mississippi Saturday, damaging dozens of houses and injuring a so far unknown number of residents, emergency officials said.

At least 20 houses were damaged and several people injured in Yazoo City Saturday afternoon, emergency officials said.
American Medical Response dispatched several ambulances to Yazoo City. Officials with King's Daughter Hospital said the injuries were pouring in Saturday afternoon.

We are just below the wave of ugly looking radar here in Ala.
Under tornado watch till early evening.
The NASCAR in Talladega has been canceled because of tornado watches.

2. Yazoo City is about 45 miles from where I live....We haven't even
had a heavy rain. Spring weather is pretty damned temperamental here

4. Yeah, I've been watching ugly radar head right for us
then 5 minutes later it disappears or goes a few miles north of us.
We could use some rain, but not at the cost of this much wind.

Update:
JACKSON, Miss. JACKSON, Miss. — A damaging storm is carving its way through at least four counties in central Mississippi, state Emergency Management Agency spokesman Greg Flynn said Saturday.

"It looks like a strong tornado has moved through Issaquena, Warren, and Yazoo counties and is currently moving through Holmes," he said.
Flynn said damage reports still are being collected, but there appears to be substantial damage in the area of Eagle Lake, north of Vicksburg.
"There were reports that it was three quarters of a mile wide," he said. "It's left behind a wake of destruction."

Police officials in Warren County reported that communication lines were down as a result of the storm, including cellular phone towers.

Flynn said the tornado jumped the Mississippi River into Mississippi around 11:30 a.m. central time.

"It caused a bunch of damage in Louisiana," he said. "Then it strengthened when it got into Issaquena."

Most of Mississippi was under tornado watches and warnings Saturday as severe weather swept through the South. Several sporting events and festivals were rescheduled because of the storms.

3. This storm is a real monster
and it's moving very slowly. Yesterday, it was centered in west Kansas. Today, it's only moved as far as eastern Nebraska. It's absolutely huge, too.

It's COLD again here in NM. This is the winter that just refuses to die.

5. Stay safe.
These storms sound like absolute monsters, and they say the worst hasn't hit yet.

It's creeping up my way, and I have a very bad feeling. We've been getting sun here and there most of the day and that ain't good.

6. Y'all take care and stay safe.
I always think of the Holly Hunter movie "Miss Firecracker" when I hear the name of Yazoo City, the setting for the film. I hope the damage isn't too bad and that no lives are lost.
