5. That's a Native American symbol, not a Nazi swastika
My great-grandparents drove to California in the late 1920s. They bought some Navajo jewelry somewhere along the way & some of the jewelry has swastikas on them.

6. There's another highway that used to run through Arizona

Naturally, the right wingers hated it. Ironically enough, they might have changed the number, but any road leading into Arizona might as well be called the "Highway to Hell" right about now. :evilfrown:

7. I grew up in a town called Safford. Highway 666 veered off I-10 directly through Safford.

And yes, the religious freakazoids (uber-mormons) hated it and had it changed. Little Safford, Arizona in the heart of the "Magic Gila Valley."
