Internet Ruins Racist Pickup Truck's Fun

Tragedy in America: A nice patriot from Virginia whose truck had a very patriotic paint job, has been stripped of his right to license plate free speech. The plates carried a coded White Power message, citing Hitler and David Lane.

We'd like to think Gawker partly responsible for this, as we picked up (along with many other blogs) the photo of a Ford F-150 with an "Everything I Need to Know About Islam I Learned on 9/11" theme on the back. That lovely message was joined by a Confederate flag and a license plate reading 14CV88.

Seems random enough, right? Aha, but it's not. As commenters on various blogs pointed out, there's a secret Nazi supremacist message in there. The 14 stands for the fourteen words of the cutesy old David Lane adage "We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children." The CV stands for "Confederate veteran," because apparently this truck owner is 172 years old. And the 8s stand for the eighth letter of the alphabet, H. Doubled together they are Heil Hitler. Yay, everyone!

Anyway, the Council on American-Islamic Relations noticed the secret message and pointed it out to the Virginia DMV, which is now banning the plates. So, crusty old racist Civil War veteran P. Jackariah Biggsby is now driving around with illegal plates. Well done, internet. You made this happen. Get this patriot off the road.

5. Remember this guy from a few months back?

...Damndest thing, I was in a completely different part of town two days ago, looked up and I was behind the same truck. Serendipity, or whatever.

Anyhow, he'd taken down the two homemade bumper stickers and replaced them with one that just said "Think green - recycle congress."

13. lol -- perhaps its intended as a critique of our automobile-centered culture
Our obsession with Fords et al has increased our dependence on foreign oil, leading to a policy of petro-imperialism resulting in global instability, etc.

Maybe that's what he had in mind.

18. If I were a Ford C-level, I believe I'd sue this dumb fuck.
I realize Henry Ford was anti-Semitic, but his family and the company have long since denounced his views on the Jewish faith/culture.

This makes it look like Ford is sponsoring this shit and I'm sure they wouldn't like it... AT ALL.

10. Why would anyone
agree to paint that? People like this are disturbed. Who the phuck wants to drive around with that image on their car?

Reminds me of this story, where a Shop Rite refused to make a cake;

JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell, Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell and Adolf Hitler Campbell.

Good names for a trio of toddlers? Heath and Deborah Campbell think so. The Holland Township couple has picked those names and the oldest child, Adolf Hitler Campbell, turns 3 today.

This has given rise to a problem, because the ShopRite supermarket in Greenwich Township has refused to make a cake for young Adolf's birthday.

"We believe the request ... to inscribe a birthday wish to Adolf Hitler is inappropriate," said Karen Meleta, a ShopRite spokeswoman.
The Campbells turned down the market's offer to make a cake with enough room for them to write their own inscription and can't understand what all of the fuss is about.

11. A picture IS worth a thousand words
Read this story yesterday and thought: 14CV88? Could maybe be a weird coincidence, someone's trying to see something that's not there - like numerology.

THIS clears that up, thank you very much.

Let's see, he honors both the Confederacy and Hitler on his American-made truck. The Confederacy, the greatest terrorists in American history, who led a rebellion against a democratically elected regime and caused the deaths of over 600,000 Americans. And all so their lazy asses wouldn't have to actually do any of their own work.

And then Hitler, whom hundreds of thousands more Americans died fighting. You just gotta love patriotic Americans like these.

36. It's a vinyl wrap
Not a "sticker" and there are lots of them on transit buses and commercial vehicles. There is no seperate adhesive. If it
s a warm day, and you can manage to get a corner of it up with a fingernail, the whole thing will peel off.

29. Normally I would agree with you...
but in this case the state owns the license plate (if I'm not mistaken), and sets the rules on what is appropriate "language" when one requests a vanity plate. You can't order a plate that says "Police". Plus, I wouldn't want an obscenity to be allowed on a state owned and mandated item.

28. It doesn't actually take much time ...

These dog whistles and symbols are everywhere, and people have been studying them for quite awhile. I went on a surveillance mission of sorts for a militia researcher back in the early 90s. Without getting into the details, there was this house out in the middle of nowhere, and the owner had put a road sign on his rather lengthy driveway, naming it 1488 Lane.

The addition of "CV" is something I haven't run across before, but combined with the Confederate naval jack on the window, it's a fairly quick association.

30. He is also violating the SCV Constitution
His Virginia plates are Sons of Confederate Veterans specialty plates, a 501(c)3 non-profit veterans' descendants organization, and their Constitution EXPRESSLY forbids ANY association, or sympathetic views, with white supremacists or other political extremist hate groups. He should be reported to them immediately, so they can revoke his membership. Religious bigotry is also forbidden in their Constitution, as they welcome members of any faith or no faith to their ranks, as they are, again, a non-profit organization registered with the U.S. Government.
