MSNBC Rate The Candidate Results so Far
Edited on Thu May-03-07 09:53 PM by hnmnf
Candidate Before the Debate After the Debate
Positive Negative Positive Negative
Sam Brownback 10% 49% 11% 49%
Jim Gilmore 4% 49% 12% 45%
Rudy Guiliani 41% 34% 22% 45%
Mike Huckabee 14% 42% 21% 38%
Duncan Hunter 7% 47% 11% 46%
John McCain 31% 40% 21% 46%
Ron Paul 9% 47% 38% 32%
Mitt Romney 28% 41% 37% 35%
Tom Tancredo 10% 48% 12% 48%
Tommy Thompson 11% 46% 11% 48%

So analyzing this, the important things are that Guiliani dropped 19% in his positive points from before the debate to aftewards and gained 11 points in the negative column. John McCain lost 10% in the positive point section and gained 6 points in the negative column.

The winners were Mitt Romney who gained 9 points in the positive and cut 6 points from his negative ranking. Also Ron Paul gained a whopping 27 points in the positive and cut 15 points in his negative column. So according to the Rate the Candidates, Romney picked up ground, Ron Paul gained the most, and Guiliani and McCain did not do well at all. All the other candidates picked up marginally.

7. Good. 24% of Americans say they wouldn't vote for a Mormon

Mitt wouldn't win MA. He has flip flopped on every position he has ever had. Of the realistic candidates, who would be easier to beat?

11. Republicans will rally around him
They will "forgive" his Mormonism quite quickly.

14. Sure. But he has to win over more than just Republicans to win the g.e.
Who would be easier to beat (that actually has a chance of winning the nomination)?

4. So the winner is Ron Paul by those stats.
He did come off as having the most sense & his responses did not seem "canned". The most genuine of all of these lying sacks of S**t!

13. Rudy knows one thing--how to play off ethnic politics in New York City.
He's also a great publicity hound. Aside from that he's the guy who thought Bernie Kerik was such a great police commissioner that he recommended him as head of Homeland Security. Actually, I was hoping for a Giuliani temper tantrum--talk about your unstable people with nuclear weapons!
