Apparently Philadelphia is the negative center of the Universe
1. Lower Merion SPYCAM. Res ipse loquitur.

2. Vomiting Phillies Fan, a.k.a. Pukemon...plese allow me to say this:

Over the years, the one arena here in Philly where you could take your family without much fear of hooliganism was the Baseball Stadium, formerly the Vet, now Citizens Bank Park. However, due to the recent success of the Phillies coupled with all kinds of attractive giveaways and dollar hot dog nights for the masses, every idiot has decided that the place to be is the Phillies game.

I'm not going to spend the post debating the merits and demerits of the Philadelphia fans. I just feel very badly that once again, we're being tarnished by this utter and complete asshole who is lucky to be in one piece after doing that to anyone's kid, much less that of a police officer's. It is, unfortunately, an increasingly common occurence at the games and when this happened many years ago at the Eagles games, I was forced by these types of circumstances to give up my wonderful season tickets, which were not only undercover at the 35 yard line, but I was seated behind Mr. Bobby Rydell, who kept us all in stitches with his stories. Yes, I know, he just had a DUI...when things go badly, they then get worse.

4. it's been quiet lately...
I've heard some things on the QT which lead me to believe that we won't be seeing a lot of these in the future.

7. You're absolutely right about that...
I had had a thread here when they acquired Vick which stated that I was off the Eagles until they replaced Vick and Coach Reid who brought him here against the sentiments of the owner, who acquiesced b/c of reasons I don't want to go into here. It is just revoltin' that he's probably going to be here another season, and Reid here for at least 3 more...

10. Pukemon is from Jersey.
So don't blame Philadelphia for this kind of behavior.

12. As a Cubs fan in Philly, I feel ya
Wrigley has it's fair share of idiots, too:

The moron who threw a beer on Victorino
The asshats who wore the racist "Horry Kow" t-shirts to "welcome" Kosuke Fukudome
The racist bleacher-bums (you know, Cubs fans have all been tarred as racists because of these yahoos)

You're right to blame the give-aways and recent team success. I remember taking my daughter to a Cubs/Phillies game a couple of years ago at the end of the season and the stadium was half empty... and the Phillies were still in Wild Card contention! Band-wagoners all.

There was the drunk who stopped me and my daughter and slurred "Chicago is that way, man." He was pointing towards Camden.

There was the jerk who snatched a ball away from my daughter, thrown to MY DAUGHTER by Carlos Marmol during warm-ups because we were the only Cubs fans in the outfield. "I just wanted to get a ball for my son."

Idiots are everywhere and will always target fans of the other team. Take heart. At least Phillies fans aren't the rat-bastards that Dodgers fans are.

13. I'm old enough to remember 8-team leagues
and some dignity for the most part.

Actually,I used to enjoy the day games from Wrigley Field in the 60's during the week. For the most part, no one would bother a Cub fan...you've actually sufferred longer than we have here.

Best,

PC

14. Hey, I live in Florida, born here. There are more Florida threads than
Philly. This will pass, and we'll be in the forefront again. Do not despair.
