Tucker Carlson: Liberals have a problem with Michele Bachmann because she's "effective"

Tucker Carlson Calls Sarah Palin the Leader of the Tea Party Movement 'By Default'
By Heather Friday Apr 16, 2010 4:00pm

http://videocafe.crooksandliars.com/heather/tucker-carlson-calls-sarah-palin-leader-te

As usual, Tucker Carlson gets it wrong again. When asked who the leader of the Tea Party is, he says: "I would say Sarah Palin, by default, I mean... there is... strictly speaking there is no individual leader... ummm, but yeah, I think Sarah Palin is the most popular, sure."

Sorry Tucker, but the leaders of the Tea Party movement as we've said time and time again here are the astroturf, industry funded groups paying to promote these rallies and Fox News for helping them along. They don't need a single leader, but Sarah Palin's not it. She's just another useful tool willing to cash in with the sore losermans who are still pissed off because she and McCain lost the election.

Carlson, par for the course, decided to use Michele Bachmann, another woman he's apparently "impressed with," to take a shot at liberals. Of course the only reason someone would have a problem with her is because she's "effective". Uh...no, Tucker -- the reason people have a problem with her is because, like Palin, she's a bomb-throwing, lying, race-baiting, McCarthy wannabe who's using the same dog-whistle language as Palin to incite the less sane among the masses with absolutely no regard for any of the consequences of her actions and her words.

It is pathetic that the two "rodeo queens" seem to have this kind of effect on Republican men, isn't it? I'm guessing we can put Tucker in the Rich Lowry Sarah Palin "starbursts" club.

Of course, any time Tucker Carlson opens his mouth and says something ridiculous, I always enjoy having another reason to post this video again. Jon Stewart lets Tucker Carlson know how I feel about him. Tucker Carlson... you're hurting America.

Nobody's listening, he might just as well not be there. But there he is, yammering away to nobody. Tucker must have serious shit on somebody high up.

3. Are not his minutes of 'fame' used up yet? I think so.
Edited on Sat Apr-17-10 08:46 AM by CurtEastPoint
This smug prick (Tucker Swanson McNear Carlson) has had everything handed to him: Tucker Carlson is the elder son of Richard Warner Carlson, a former Los Angeles news anchor and U.S. ambassador to the Seychelles who was president of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and director of Voice of America. His mother is Patricia Caroline Swanson (born 1945), former wife of Howard Feldman and an heiress to the Swanson food-conglomerate fortune. He has a brother, Buckley Swanson Peck Carlson. A great-uncle was Sen. J. William Fulbright.

He attended St. George's School, a boarding school in Newport, Rhode Island. After graduation, he majored in History at the private liberal arts Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.

I think it's time for him to stay home and tend to ... Lillie, Buckley, Hopie, and Dorothy.

5. I'm thinking it's time to remake VALLEY OF THE DOLLS, starring Michele
Bachmann, Sarah Palin, and Ann Coulter.

Tucker Carlson can play a young doctor who shovels them meds from the hospital formulary shelves. Virginia Foxx and Mean Jean Schmidt can play the original characters, two or three generations later, their minds almost completely scrambled & fried and deteriorated from decades of narcotic dependency and abuse, given to frequent fits of hallucinatory rage episodes...

Directed by Jon Voight. Soundtrack by Ted Nugent and Toby Keith.

20. The Dolts. Exactly. It would cause acute cranial pain to take Palin or
Bachmann seriously. From the news clips it sounds to me as if Palin is more vacuous than deceitful but that Bachmann is more deceitful than Satan. The two of them together, with Ann Coulter, make up 3 of the 4 horsepersons of the apocalypse.

I'm just not getting Bachmann's schtick. It's hard to decide if she's really as nuts as she seems to be or if she's doing crazy things to draw attention to herself.

Either way I'm smelling Oscar for her DOLLS role...

9. While I personally am turned off by M. Bachmen, she is effective.
She draws a crowd and gets attention.

When people say someone is effective, they are not agreeing
with the person or their beliefs necessarily, they might
literally disapprove but they are admitting the person is
accomplishing their goal.

I'd like to know more about Michele's husband and family. Doesn't she have quite a few kids? Isn't her husband a doctor, or some such? How come she doesn't parade them like Sarah does?

29. I think its a female thing, actually...
We're not as vehement about Sean Hannity, Beck, or O'Reilly as we are with Bachmann, Palin or just pick a female. Then again, old Joe the Plumber struck a nerve, too. Mike Pence...I see him on television every day, but he doesn't seem to bring the same amount of venom. Tucker Carlson...now, Tucker seems worthy of extreme heat from us, but he doesn't even generate the same response.

I'll have to look into this gender politics thing. It's definitely on the right. The venom spewed against Hillary Clinton was downright weird in comparison to other candidates, even from other women. Pelosi gets more heat from the right, than Harry Reid.

It's not because Bachmann is effective. She isn't. It's because she's female. I think there is an American element, left or right, that wants political women to be quiet UNLESS they agree with us (whoever the us is). Men get a bit more leeway. But, how dare a women differ in opinion.

A woman who differs in opinion, is stupid, a bad mother, a litany of degrading terms that are unspeakable. I thought we were different from this.

I do realize some DUers are consistent and gender doesn't matter. But, I also know, down deep, some of this is about gender.

32. All of the right-wing gets up my ire, but women like Palin
and Bachmann make me angrier. Why? The answer is quite simple...they are an insult to women.

For the record, I admire Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi. They are both strong, smart, capable women.
