Baggers object to being called 'baggers' at the bagger ball yesterday
Many funny things yesterday, but I really got a kick out of the bagger who came over to object to being called a tea bagger because of its sexual connotations. When we told her that the baggers were the ones who called themselves tea baggers, she got really pissed.
So one of our members fired up the old PC and showed her where the baggers called themselves baggers a year ago and were proud of it.
She conceded and left, still pissed. But not sure who she was pissed at.

1. They called themselves that initially. The name kinda stuck.
Now they're left holding the bag.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teabagging

Teabagging is a slang term for the act of a man placing his scrotum in the mouth of a sexual partner. The practice resembles dipping a tea bag into a cup of tea when it is done in a repeated in-and-out motion. As a form of non-penetrative sex, it can be done for its own enjoyment or as foreplay before other activities, such as oral sex.

The practice has also been mimicked in online video games, as a practical joke, and in hazing incidents. The scrotum only touches the face or head in some of these instances, though sometimes more activity is involved. Teabagging has become more prominent in the media, and the term is used to ridicule those in the Tea Party movement.

12. Why are there mostly men at tea bagging events? They all have scrotums, but no women... Hmmm
The entertainment isn't very good at a tea party. Speakers are usually fairly boring. There aren't any hot chicks. So the thing that really draws those men to those events must be the tea bagging. I have noticed a few tents at each tea party, but I thought they were just for shade, but now I know otherwise.

20. Dutch Oven, Dirty Sanchez, Rusty Trombone, Donky Punch, Cleveland Steamer, London Bridge
Google em if you want. NSFW of course.

Tea Bagging came first, then came the Tea Baggers as a political movement.

/I've never actually done any of em, just heard things...

32. Okay, if they're offended by "Tea Baggers" we can refer to them as "Scrotum Dippers" instead.
Problem solved. *dusts off hands*

14. Why sexual connotation?
What is it with the 'thugs' and 't-partiers' - they seem to relate everything to sex! I've noticed that for a long time - wish I had made a diary of everytime they try to make a point, or talk for any length of time, and sex comes up. Especially bestiality and incest - things that most people I know just don't even think about. It probably would not take that long to look back at some of their speeches to find what I'm talking about. I just don't think I will deal with that - but its still freaky!

18. Isn't it just like the GOP to screw this up as well,
considering that the Libertarian Party started the "tea party movement" several years ago, but the GOP came along and decided on "Tea  Baggers" the person responsible for the name change probably understood the meaning and did it as a joke. Now the jokes on them, and as you said "they're left holding the BAG!"

Nice to see ya, saltpoint :hi:

10. I have a little trouble buying into a line of reasoning that is the equivalent of the one that
supports the prohibition against the word fuck.

Getting upset at me for expressing anger/frustration/surprise because you think I'm talking about coitus is stupid.

Fuck has more than one meaning, so does teabagger; amongst other things, it also means whatever persons who claim to be teabaggers say it means.

17. Wacko Conservatives Have Had a Lot of Trouble with Names Recently
There's the Teabaggers, who had a convention in Nashville at the Gaylord Hotel (juvenile, yes, but irony can be so).

There's the National Organization for Marriage whose acronym is a sound that LOLCats make when eating cheezeburgers and who started a movement called Two Million For Marriage, which they abbreviated as 2M4M, which to me looks like a personal ads abbreviation of a male couple looking for a third.

23. Glenn Beck speaks in code of his youthful teabagging days:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,589808,00.html

Back when I was a kid, kids had real games ... that routinely featured someone like me getting a ... ball right to the face. I mean, that's what growing up is really all about.

Now, for anybody who went to school with me, you can testify how much I sucked ... . But I learned from all of my disastrous failures ...: With failure comes consequences.

You see, I got the ... ball in the face a lot as a kid. I was always picked last. I got — I got hit so many times it really wasn't pretty. You know what happened after getting hit by this thing several times? I realized ...I'd better learn how to make it another way unless I wanted the imprint — the pattern — of this ball, right here on my face for all eternity.

Laura Christy wears a hat decorated with tea bags as she attends a Tea Party tax day rally in Nashville, Tenn., on Thursday, April 15, 2010, the day income taxes are due.
