Question re: Anti-Obama protest sign

I saw my first real, live anti-Obama protest today. I know, I know. I'm sheltered. I live in one of the most liberal parts of Los Angeles. We don't have teabaggers. Well, I'm sure we do, but they keep their heads down and their mouths shut. Anyway. I'm utterly perplexed by the signs they were carrying. There were small groups of 4-5 people standing on various street corners downtown today. Each group had one large banner and a few smaller signs. They actually looked somewhat professional and the spelling was all correct (shocking, right?). But the message was utterly perplexing.

I've heard the "Obama is Hitler" argument and I assume the heroin is referencing Afghanistan somehow. But I am completely baffled by what these people are protesting about. What does that sign MEAN?!

Also, I hear there's supposed to be a Neo-Nazi rally downtown tomorrow. Are these groups connected??

I'm so confused. But man, those people had some balls and/or a major case of the stupids to be carrying around signs like that in downtown LA!

1. Liberals are far more likely to greet such a protest with a peaceful counter-protest....

The Mouthbreathers are far more likely to get violent or try to rip down protest signs.

4. What was strange

was that they all had the same professional looking banner and matching signs, so it wasn't just one dumbass with an inability to clarify his grievance. This group (small though it was), were all united behind this one complaint.

And I was SO annoyed that I couldn't confront them...since I had no idea what they were protesting.

5. What does it mean? President Obama is black! OMG! No, they're not just racist, but truly concerned

about the fact that taxes have risen for them (except they haven't) since Obama (omg he's black) has been (illegally) president.

9. Your first mistake is in assuming that their signs have "meaning"

other than unjustified, misdirected, anger which incorporates "evil" things.

Actually, what it "means" is "Look at my sign, I am a stupid idiot."

When you wrote that the signs were professionally done but had a very confusing message, that gave me an excellent clue. Maybe it the LaRouchites? Yes! Of course the answer provided on their web site (no I won't provide the link) doesn't help unless you are part of their pathetic little group, but...

They claim:


1. Obama is like Hitler - they've been running around with the mustache signs for a year now

2. And everyone knows that the Queen of England is a drug pusher

3. The connection is that Obama is going the Queen's bidding here and that also means he's a drug pusher. OK, is that clear?

No I didn't think so.

These clowns have been around for 40 years and no matter what cause they support their message is always weird.

One helpful hint from personal experience - don't ever confront them by yourself - they are prone to violence (e.g. Operation Mop-up).

Obama. If bush could do all he did and they lapped it up, what dang right do they have to say impeach a President who has done nothing illegal. I just wish some of those so called "libural" commentators had the balls to ask one of those people on what grounds he could be impeached...but then of course, we all know none of them have any, so it will never happen.
