You transatlantic travelers are weenies!
No planes? Why are you whining - don't you know how to swim?

What? You say it's too far? Then get a row boat.

It's too much work and a bit dangerous? Oh for f@#$'s sake. Take a ship!

What was that? It would take too LONG?

Okay, that's it. So what are you going to do if civilization is blighted? If suddenly the technology we rely upon ceases to exist. Are you going to know what to do?

Weenies!

6. Being a person in kidney failure,
I take exception to your supposed "joke". Perhaps I am just a little thin skinned. Taterguy's life depends on immediate action.

Stop and think before you make light. Just saying.

7. Wait - is that real?
I thought that taterguy was making a joke!

However, to stick that into a thread like this is like throwing a stone into water. Why would I ever make light of such a situation, knowing that it was real?

Well, since it now has been said, I hope that you find a donor very soon. My cousin's little baby - after several months of waiting - just got a heart transplant in Houston. I hope the same for you and taterguy very soon.

I apologize for any offense.

I'd blame alcohol but I'm not drinking yet.

10. Oh thank GOD!
Well, I thought that you were being lighthearted. I just didn't know whether a friend had failing kidneys!

You know, it did kind of suck being shamed for something that wasn't real, though. :( However, it's hard to hold ill will toward someone who is suffering, so I wish Gentry Dixon the very best.

9. Truthfully, I do not know if Taterguy
was joking. It just struck me when I saw your response. Perhaps I over-reacted.

Thanks for your concern. I am happy for your cousin. My little sister had a kidney transplant and lasted 12 years before finally losing her battle. When I went in to find out if I was donor eligible I found out I had kidney disease. It is slowly progressing, but I am 61, so I have had a pretty good life. Not too many regrets.

5. Maybe we should start strapping people to torpedoes.
They're underwater, they travel fast, and they have a near 100% accuracy rate.
