It's NOT over:. "Afghan Prisoners Detail Torture, Abuse at Bagram Prison"
Afghan Prisoners Detail Torture, Abuse at Bagram Prison

More accounts have emerged of torture and abuse at the US military’s Bagram prison in Afghanistan. BBC News says it’s collected testimony from nine witnesses describing human rights violations at a secret Bagram jail in the period since President Obama took office. One prisoner said the secret facility is known as the “Black Hole.” Prisoners reported being subjected to sleep deprivation, freezing temperatures and other abuses. One prisoner said he lost half a row of teeth after a US soldier struck him with the butt of a gun. The same prisoner also recounted being forced to dance to music every time he wanted to use the toilet.

BBC News, Bagram

Afghan prisoners are being abused in a "secret jail" at Bagram airbase, according to nine witnesses whose stories the BBC has documented.

The abuses are all said to have taken place since US President Barack Obama was elected, promising to end torture.

The US military has denied the existence of a secret detention site and promised to look into allegations.

Bagram was the site of a controversial jail holding hundreds of inmates, who have now been moved to another complex.

1. Let's see. The military simultaneously denies it and is "looking into it"?
Sort of like saying, "I didn't rob the bank, but I'll be happy to check the vault for my fingerprints."

3. "moved to another complex" = shuffled around to avoid the ICRC.
Obama is NOT going to be proud of how McChrystal handled this.

4. Well, the ICRC is a well known bunch of leftist troublemakers and haters.
And, the prisoners just don't understand that what's being done to them is for their own good.

10. We're into the second year now.
We have to bring this up to the president with love, as Cornel West says.

Stop the torture. Just stop it.
