Obama leads the world toward ending nuclear weaponry
"Several nations agreed to dispose of weapons-grade uranium, end plutonium production, tighten port security and other voluntary steps.
All participants endorsed Obama's call to secure vulnerable nuclear materials in four years...

The U.S. and Russia signed on Tuesday a long-awaited agreement under which the former Cold... War rivals each will dispose of 34 metric tons of weapons-grade plutonium and seek to get rid of additional material."

4. In 1960 the nuns told us that the Russians were going to bomb us
in 1960. I laid awake every night that year watching out my bedroom window waiting for the sound of the planes.

Then when the year ended without any bombs I realized I must have heard them wrong and that they really meant THE 1960s!

So I spent nine more years watching out my bedroom window.

It will be quite an accomplishment to turn that clock back.

5. I haven't seen it all I don't think
A lot of nibbling around the edges, from Carter to Clinton. I've never seen a President do after nuclear arms security this aggressively.

7. Given the context of the Cold War, those nibblings were pretty big...
...a lot of ground was broken from there to now.
