1. I've asked that question a couple times myself.
And the sound of crickets chirping from MD LLC is deafening.

6. No you didn't.
You might have answered it for someone else, but I just checked the threads I posted the question in, and there were no replies to the question.

However, I see someone has responded here, so it's been answered.

She's still a horrible candidate, but at least she's not a PNAC war criminal.

7. thanks! and this from the Hunter Yearbook, via emptywheel
“In my family, getting the (HCHS)
Distinguished Alumni Award
was better than getting the Nobel Prize,”
laughs Elena Kagan ‘77, the Charles
Hamilton Houston Professor of Law and
recently appointed Dean of Harvard Law
School. Dea n Kagan owns a stellar re-
sume which includes stints as Associate
Counsel to the President (1995-96) as well
as Deputy Director of the Domestic Pol-
icy Council (1997-99) where she was in-
strumental in crafting groundbreaking
tobacco regulation legislation. Despite
her accomplishments, it’s easy to under-
stand why to her family the Hunter
award shines so brightly—Kagan’s ties to
Hunter run far and deep. Her brother
Irving Kagan is an HCHS alumnus and
veteran teacher in the Social Studies de-
partment. Mother Gloria Kagan taught
for many years in the elementary school
and Dean Kagan has a niece currently en-
rolled at Hunter.

Apparently no relation whatsoever, and also seems like she might be somewhat liberal.
That's a relief, at least...

8. what kind of bs is it? Kagan is as common among Jews as Smith is among non-Jews.

Do you ask if any given Smith is related to a different Smith? It's like asking whether Scott Brown is related to Jerry Brown.
