Poll question: The DLC --- is ruining & running the democratic party
The Democratic Leadership Council is blocking dems from cutting the funding for the surge.

.....Here’s a quote from the DLC web site. It talks about what the DLC wants it’s members to say about the surge.

>>> snip

...a congressional effort to cut funding would be seen in the country as an attempt to seize control of Iraq policy. If there is to be a calamitous, Vietnam-style U.S. defeat in Iraq, Karl Rove would probably like nothing better than to goad Democrats into assuming co-responsibility for it. There's no reason to fall into this trap now. So Democrats should speak their minds, hope for the best in Iraq, and be prepared to hold the president accountable if his latest plan fails.

The DLC doesn’t want dems to cut funding for the surge, even though it‘s the only way to bring our troops home. ....They’re worried about their sorry political asses...they’ll let Bush get his way...“hope for the best” and blame the White House for everything.
...That's their plan. :(

Now here’s the topic of my poll...

Did you know that the DLC was a conservative corporate sector of the democratic party? I didn’t.

1. Conservative might be going to far - they are sellout s and corpratists though
I think they would have a very moderately liberal nation if they could get it, but they are more interested in accomedating the right wing than they are anybody to their left.

I have to say though I'm also not sure the planned cut off of funding is all that good an idea - see huge downsides to it.

3. The DLC is a cancer on the Democratic party
And ignoring cancer doesn't make it go away.

7. don't worry, there are PLENTY of DLC supporters out there,
tho proportionately fewer on DU than you might find in the general Democratic public. They abound among Hillary/Biden/Richardson supporters.

11. and lieberman is a past chairman!!!
go to the 'Progressive Policy Institute'(not progressive) link on their site and find out how hawkish this group really is - Their foreign policy reads like pnac only w/ liberal language.

I believe or have read that the dlc was, originally, to be the political arm of ppi.
