OK, the more I think about this, the more creepy it gets:
Being a natural born trouble maker, I set up a Facebook group suggesting that the Catholics of Los Angeles get together and select their new bishop themselves rather than accepting the Opus Dei bishop recently assigned by the Vatican. It's a rather large group with me, my dad and one of my daughters constituting the entire membership.

Now for the creepy part.

Some kid from Texas with whom I have absolutely NO connection wrote to me chiding me for my lack of faith in the Vatican and told me I wasn't a good Catholic.

How did he find my Facebook group? Does he spend his time searching through Facebook looking for signs of dissidence among the faithful? Is he part of Opus Dei?

1. You waste your day Facebook-ing about Opus Dei?
There is a secret message in my title--use your decoder ring.

3. People search all the time about everything. And it's amazing how people see what their friends
sign up for and how quickly word can spread about a group. I started a group less than a week ago about a small local landmark and now have more than 700 people as fans.

I wouldn't worry too much about it.

8. I learned how to argue with Bishops from my mom.
She argues with Bishops. She'd shamelessly argue with the Pope if she ever got an invite.

My mom's got God's Home Phone Number, and sometimes He answers when He sees her number on caller ID. Whenever the Pope's on hold (all the time apparently) it's cause God is talking to people like my mom.
