A 'friend' of mine keeps posting stuff about the healthcare bill and now this clip
about obama where he supposedly says he's a muslim and then says i mean a christian. my 'friend' says he can't vote for someone who lies about their religious beliefs. before i watched the clip i told him obama never lied about his beliefs and said where do you get your information. then after posting that i figured i should see the clip to see what the hell he was talking about. it looked like it was edited or at least some mistake he made while doing an interview. i then told my 'friend' "this is what you are using as proof obama lied about his beliefs? jack i am ashamed of you".

My friend is a born again christian. They went from living in a huge house with two barns and lots of land to grow vegetables to a rented house that was not in good shape to now a trailer in a trailer park. They live on disability and probably medicaid. Yet they have the balls to post this crap. i am on the verge of unfriending jack. we've argued over federal funds paying for abortions. i didn't want to argue the opinions but did say that there is a law prohibiting federal funds paying for abortions. then went off on guy who seemed to think he had every right to decide what i could and couldn't do with my body. his justification was that he had adopted two children whose mothers may have aborted. that doesn't seem to be a reason why he should decide for me. but i digress

I am so tempted to tell jack that we must have a different definition of christian. and I have had about enough of his bs regarding obama and the democrats. I bite my tongue and have just ignored many of his posts. For some reason I just had to comment on this outrageous lie!! Even if he was muslim... so the fuck what!

I have been just so sad seeing the way people have been acting. They don't like how things are going so they act like big babies having temper tantrums and spreading lies about people because they want their way. Why should what you believe be the rule? What you believe isn't the same as what I believe and no one is trying to force my beliefs on you. IF it weren't for a democrat you wouldn't have disability to live on. If it weren't for a democrat you wouldn't have medicaid. Or food stamps.

1. Your friend is no Christian.
He thinks he is a Christian but he is not. He is a hater, a liar, a hypocrite, and a fool. He fits the Republican stereotype perfectly.

When his posts are not met with objection, he thinks he has gained consensus. It is good that you have taken a stand but life is short and you cannot pour tea into a full cup. Unfriend him.

2. i know. but i cannot unfriend everyone. i cannot unbrother my brother.
i can only refuse to discuss political things with him. and his wife who claims to be a democrat but sure sounds as nutty as my brother. but you are right. my life is too short and no amount of logic will make people like jack change their thinking or get a brain in their head. if people want to believe something no amount of facts are going to dissuade them.

11. that's what i ended up doing i hid his messages.
i think it's more about me then them.... i get myself so worked up and upset about the way people seem to think what they believe must be true for everyone. i have hard time letting go. so hiding them is probably best for me. i can't change their minds but i won't be silent anymore... especially when it comes to healthcare. i am for a single payer system. period!! financially, common sense, and even if you believe in jesus and god.... looking out for your brother....

12. I do that, sometimes, too...
...I have a very eclectic group of friends. From gun-toting teabaggers to flag-burning revolutionaries/communists & everything in-between. The majority are like-minded, but I know the fringe, as well. When either side gets too inflammatory, I hide it.

I'm sure I'll be going back to some vitriol when I click on facebook later. I just posted info about a pro-Immigration Reform rally, hosted by Dick Durbin on Saturday. (If you're in Chicago & need info, get in touch.)

4. I'm always so mystifying by people worrying about "un-friending" people
on facebook.

Just unfriend them, who the hell cares?

Call me crazy, but my real flesh and blood friends are more important to me.

7. Just hide him and ignore his messages.
What's so hard about that?

And no, your friend hasn't a clue what being a christian means.
