Disgruntled Democrats Join Tea Party
Source: CNN

They are not typical Tea Party activists: A woman who voted for President Obama and believes he's a "phenomenal speaker." Another who said she was a "knee-jerk, bleeding heart liberal."

To be sure, the number of Democrats in the Tea Party movement is small. A recent CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll shows that while 96 percent of Tea Party activists identify themselves as either Republican or Independent, only 4 percent say they are Democrats.

Wow...4% of Tea Party members are Democrats. That doesn't even encompass all the old racist hillbilly "Democrats" who still spend their lives drinking moonshine, making juvenile racial slurs, and bitching about Lincoln.

More GOP Spin from CNN!

"I was a card-carrying member of the ACLU, and I probably did inhale in college...I think we've gone too far on the side of government doing too much...The Democratic Party is wanting to take care of everyone, instead of helping everybody stand on their own two feet."

This is either an April Fool's joke or teabaggers pretending to be ex-Dems. Come now, would a REAL ex-Dem say anything as imbecilic as "I probably did inhale in college"?

11. Statistically, there is still a small proportion of extremely reactionary Southerners who identify D
Doesn't mean they vote as Dems or that they have the same beliefs as mainstream Dems, but they just say the same thing they've said all their lives.

12. Um...
I call BS on this. I just don't see a self described bleeding heart liberal joining up with the baggers. No way.

I also think the one that supposedly said she voted for Obama because he's "phenomenal speaker" is a "plant" cuz that's why the Pubes say we voted for Obama...only style not substance. That's right out of their talking points. Jesus, she couldn't even come up with something original.

They just make shit up as they go along...the baggers not CNN. But CNN should have pressed these two, so much for journalism.

15. It's probably called "being dragged along with my husband,"
although some of them might be older folks who are desperate for some social outlet and who just don't do the religion thing.

4% of any group does not make a mass exodus, but I'm sure they'll still hype this one to death.

18. Only a Teabagger could be so deluded as to think they are a Democrat...
when they have absolutely nothing in common with one. I still have not met a Bagger who didn't think that Nancy Pelosi was a she devil and Obama was a secret Muslim. They keep going on TV and pretending they are a normal cross section of the American public who are plagued with a small fringe element but when you ask the "birther/socialist" questions they always crack and show their true colors.
