MSNBC ratchets it up another notch into dangerous territory with McVeigh special
As if egging on the gun-toting nut job tea baggers for hours each day wasn't enough, I just saw an ad for a new special about American terrorist Tim McVeigh. That's just what these people need, more attention. Gosh, maybe they'll get to be martyrs, too! Never mind the virgins in heaven (anyway, sex is fer evile libruhls), they might get to be on the teevee!

1. Why do this at all, and why do this in April?
I seriously wonder about their motives. They must know????what they are doing? Maybe this stuff sells in the east, I dunno. It doesn't make sense to me living in militia land.

5. Precisely the time of year you don't want to stir things up, because
the militias are all ready stirred up. There are many other 'anniversaries' in April. I can't imagine that this is going to help the OK City victim's friends and families. Surely there are other ways to honor the victims besides listening to their killer for learning opportunities. IMHO.

27. It's precisely the time of year you do want to show this
People need to see where the wingnuts' virulent rhetoric leads.

4. Hopefully, people in the middle will recall how dangerous these domestic terrorists are...
...and start seeing the teabag nuts in a new light.

6. Also A Warning to Others...
If some lone wolf is lurking out there ready to explode, there's little many of us can do about it and hope that the loser tips his/her hand before they totally snap. This is a reminder to many about how we have terrorism within our borders and what those consequences can be.

These days the wingnuts are trying to counter the charges they'be become unhinged and violent by saying "the Democrats are doing the same thing" and otherwise trying to deny the aggitation that is going on within their midsts and with the encouragement of their "leaders". By remembering that ugly day in '95, it also will make many think about how dangerous things have gotten...specifically on the GOOP side. The moment we try to ignore or downplay we become very vulnerable.

They only spew this shit because they have an audience.

8. This happened a generation ago
Lot of younger people have not even heard of this event. I don't think they teach much if anything about it in our schools.

Its good that people remember this stuff.

11. Maybe cable news needs ratings
Cable news might feel a need to try to ignite another horrific tragedy because it is a ratings producer.

28. Ding ding!
If it bleeds, it leads. A revolution or any kind of violent event would be a godsend for 24-hour cable news.

12. Regardless
I plan on watching.

These McVeigh tapes should be very interesting.
On a side note, McVeigh claimed the Army implanted a microchip
in his butt. Rambo Chip?

Followed by a tape of McVeigh saying "I feel no shame for it."

Part of the commercial they're running. Oh, fucking great.

15. They are celebrating Hitler's birthday - April 20th
So, does that make all of them Nazis?

'cause that is the "special" thing about April 20th.

These people make me sick.

18. I didn't see her name associated with it...at least, not in the ad.
Maybe she's hosting, I don't know. If she is, perhaps that gives me a little hope that it won't be a tea-bagger fluff piece.
