Both were Rhodes scholars and they're really good friends.
Indeed, they were friends from their Stanford days. They're both really smart.
Imagine not one murder in Newark for one month - the first time in 45 years - that's no mean achievement.

2. I stepped on a rat in Newark in the 80s, eeeek, it made a crunching sound
but in those days this was not a biggie in Newark.

I live in what I call The Newark Delta because it's where Newark, Irvington, and Hillside (the Union Country line) intersect.

During the last snowstorm, someone tweeted Booker that a gigantic pothole had formed. Booker tweeted back that the hole was on the Irvington side of the border, but he'd let the mayor Wayne Smith know!
