My hopey-changey moment on the way home from work tonight

Classic and was great fun too.

Had to stop at Staples before I came home so this happened over an hour ago (7:10-7:20PM). I snaked through town to go out to the Staples in the next town over on this relatively short two lane East/West highway we call Rt. 10 here in NJ. I pull out onto the highway and try to make it through the next light but it turned too quickly. When I come to a stop I see this Ford Explorer barreling up behind me in the outside lane. As soon as it pulls next to me this voice yells out so loud I heard it through my window.

Hey, Demorat, how's that hopey NIG---- thing working out for you?" At that instant time literally slowed to a crawl. Now how did he know I was a "Demorat"? I have my Democratic Underground bumper sticker up on my back window of Connie the Cobalt. I turned lowering my window and looked over the 'Exploder' (what we in the auto bizz call them) and sure enough, on the rear window of this clapped out rusted running boards late 90's early 00's 2 door Explorer Sport was the obligatory NRA member sticker, Fear no Fish decal, and some other hunting/fishing decals I didn't recognize.

I looked the comb-over needing a shave Mr. Moron straight in the eye and shouted;

"Hey asshole, I won the lottery, my life is great, how the fuck is yours working out?" It came out like I rehearsed it. And no, I didn't win the lottery, but boy it felt good to say it.

At that point the light turned green. He was stuck frozen, mouth open, lips moving, nothing coming out. I smoked Connie's tires as I pulled away from him and gave him the single finger 'salute'. He didn't try to come close again and pulled off a short time later.

One for the good guys. One of the few times I didn't have my briefcase on the front seat to get to my camera to take his picture for posterity. His reaction was priceless.
