I don't think the AEI realizes how completely this shreds what tiny scraps of credibility they had left. There was a time when AEI was seen as a hard-right organization that nevertheless semiconvincingly clothed its 'Lican talking points in professional/academic robes. Now, they're teabag fodder, nothing more.

Of course, it's OK by me as one 'Lican institution after another declines into wingnutarian irrelevance.

3. He made the only reasonable choice

Walk away clean and don't be anybodies bitch. I did the same thing after 15 years of trying to stop the company from committing suicide. I was glad to walk away before they self destructed. I guess the Republican party isn't smart enough to recognize constructive criticism from trusted staff.
