3. I feel so sorry for all the men and women of the UAW.
I'm sure that Ford trucks will still beat them, though.

Ugly pieces of accelerating shit.

Yawn you're own damn self (edited portion that reflected how I feel about people who choose to buy cars produced by companies that pay their workers nothing or next to it).

4. Why Unbelievable?
I would have bought one had I not bought a car last June. Good deals because of the media-driven runaway car brouhaha. Plus, last year at this time car sales were in the dumper, so the comparison, if true, is to a low number to begin with.

5. It's not media driven
It's driven by Toyota's quality problems.

6. You mean the 0.00004% chance of something going wrong
On a product containing thousands of complex components.

Buyers of any car take that risk. If it's not accelerating Toyotas it's Fords that burst into flames because of switchgear (still the trade's biggest ever recall by far) or SUVs that roll over because of tire mismatches.

The problem is indeed Toyota's. The silly overreaction about a tiny almost insignificant probability of a serious problem is however media-driven.

I have a feeling that the families who those who were killed by accelerating Toyotas wouldn't consider the reaction "silly"

9. Why? Can't they do math?
Are they any more important than those few killed in Ford rollovers, Chevy truck fires. etc?

I have a tiny tiny chance of getting struck by lightning - does that mean it's not silly for me to be scared of going out in the rain? Or mortified by anyone who tells me it's not that likely I need to be?

Wow. :wow:

Some progressive you are.

Meanwhile, hubby's German POS, after being in the shop 13 times in three years is getting a new engine. :eyes:

My Ford has never seen the inside of a shop, other than to get oil changes and suches...

12. This is probably because
...pretty much nobody was buying new cars in March 2009. How is Toyota's market share? Shrinking, I think, even if their numbers are above last year.

16. March of 2009, the DOW fell below 7000. It's almost 11,000 now.
I mention that in support of your point: there are more buyers this year than last year, and Toyota is offering deals for purchase and financing to help them get as much of it as they can. We would need to know how much money they spent the first quarter getting sales made.

18. Bingo.
You and I are finally... after several years... in agreement on an issue! :hi:

Glad to see factual evidence regarding this issue on this board. There are too many Toytoy-lovers here who refuse to admit reality.

Edited on Fri Apr-02-10 01:22 AM by TexasObserver
Toyota has recalls ongoing in several countries in which they market their vehicles.

I know you know that, because I've seen posters advise you of it in other threads.

What's with your devotion to Toyota's defense?

and I don't have a Toyota- got a Suzuki Jinmy 4x4 instead.

Better off road capability and better mileage than most "on the pavement" cars.
