600-pound man pleads no contest to food scams
SANFORD — A 600-pound man accused of stealing food or conning local businesses out of refunds was too big and too sick to come to court Wednesday, so he stayed in his nursing home, and his attorney pleaded no contest on his behalf.

Thus ended the five most recent Seminole County criminal cases against George Jolicoeur, a 38-year-old Sanford man who — time after time — has eaten and cheated his way into the local jail.

In general, this is the crime he's accused of committing: He goes into a restaurant or store and demands a refund, claiming he's been sold spoiled or defective food.

In 2005 he pleaded no contest to five crimes. In one, he claimed to have found hair in six milkshakes.

The latest set of crimes took place in 2007. He was arrested the day he went into a 7-Eleven near Oviedo and told a clerk that he'd bought $50 worth of beef jerky only to discover it was moldy.

1. Should have gotten a DU lawyer and plead insanity due to HFCS, imo.

2. The Man Belongs In A Treatment Center Not Jail
I doubt a jail has the capacity to adequately take care of him.

3. Sure they do
they have a large open place for people to work out, and they provide people with three meals a day.

5. He Weighs 600 Pounds
His problems are larger than needing a place to work out. A 600 pound person can not care for him or herself.

4. Yup!
And it also sounds like teh food is teh heroinz for him. I mean major food addiction going on.

That sounds more like a disease than just criminal behavior. Six-hundred pounds?

9. Obviously, food manufacturers know less than you do
Companies are printing "HFCS free" on their food packaging now. I do the shopping at our house.

If HFCS is no problem, why not just gut it out, and force the consumer to accept it?
