I think they feel their culture is being invaded by 'them' and has been for a while. Growing latino populations, the black civil rights movement, mainstream liberalism.

And I think they feel they are losing the culture war now and all their impotent rage is exploding.

But fuck them. Despite what they say this isn't 'their' country. White conservative christians are not and never were entitled to be the ones in charge, the only true americans. Despite being a fraction of the US (maybe 25%) they feel they are entitled to 100% of power. That is where their rage from. "The others" (non-whites, non-christians, non-conservatives) are gaining power and influence and they can't stand it. In fact "the others" now control the white house and have supermajorities in both houses of congress.

They are the KKK. Nothing more. Fuck them.
