I don't think it's much more complicated than that. A lot of the self congratulations are based on the massive amounts of our money that they "religiously" funnel into the military industrial complex. But, how many wars have they actually won? In the 20th century, I'm thinking maybe Grenada. I'm calling Desert Storm a continuing disaster since we are still living with it's consequences. And we pretty much got that ball rolling in the first place.
