Help Me Refute Claims About Dubya's Deficit Spending

I REALLY need help. I try to keep an arsenal of useful responses to various topics but figures for Dubya's deficits is one where I don't have a good reply at hand. A right-winger on another web site has made the claim that George W Bush (43)'s entire deficit was $459 billion in war expense as well as the $789 billion spent on the TARP expenses. I know the guy is lying (He's been busted before, but I'd like some facts and figures to hit him with). Please give me something OTHER than saying "you're a liar" or "you're a conservative tool," or "you're posting lies."

I am asking for sources, links, and useful search words.

That's a pretty heady claim for W.'s fiscal responsibility. Is it grounded in any reality outside your correspondent's head? Tell him you need facts and figures from reputable, government sources that know what they're talking about. Nitwit conservative "economists" who derive their income from think tanks need not apply.

The correspondent is a serial liar with a cavalier attitude towards accuracy or the truth--and that's being generous. He's no more an economist than I'm the Queen of Sheba (BTW I'm a white male Anglo of British and North European stock).
