I live in NJ and I am living in a Republican hell
word of warning to those that see no difference between the Dems and the GOP- COME LIVE AND WORK IN NJ! Repuke Chris Christie has forced the lay off of thousands of teachers (he loves to attacking their union) by cutting off nearly all state money for education.

State union workers and teacher unions workers and all municipal and county workers are being forced to take a pay cut to refill the pension fund the GOP raided.

If you are not well off forget college as repuke Chris Christie has raised tuition out of reach to all but the wealthy

Be thankful of the Dems HCR, you need it here as Chris Christie is gutting the environment laws and mass transit

So next time you say or do something to undermine the Democratic party, consider what it's like to live under the new more radical GOP rule- IT'S HELL ON EARTH

2. Tell us how it was that christy is the first republican elected to the position in 12 years
november 2009.

yes, i'm sure it was because of people "undermining the democratic party"

but not the people you mean.

rather, it's the ones governing as republicans.

5. it was also an unpopular incumbent
who's campaign manager did a horrible job. She wrote off several counties even though they could have made inroads there.

They did not have to lose my county by 33 points (McCain only won it by 3 a year earlier)

And if the Democrats really wanted to win it, they should have looked at Corzine's approval ratings and primaried him. Another Democrat would have won hands down.

8. The problem was that Corzine was a terrible ineffective governor.
Edited on Mon Mar-29-10 07:14 AM by davepc
It's not enough to have Democrats in office, you need effective ones. Corzin's biggest 'accomplishment' was getting in a car accident.

The fixes for NJ biggest problems (property taxes) are not rocket science, municipalities need to be forced to consolidate services so that the redundancy and overlap from town to town is eliminated. But Corzine and every other politician in the state was unwilling to trample on each others little fifedoms.

The fact is there are too many municipalities in this state (566 to be exact -- the most in any state in the union), and each one taxing its residents to provide schools and fire and police services.

Combine services between municipalities and taxes can and will go down as more people pay for the same service, instead of every isolated town paying for their own.

9. In the face of the crisis they put us in they embrace the old bush agenda. Obama
and the democrats, via the health care legislation and other things on the horizon are trying to improve on education. People better wise up fast. The GOP has no solutions.

. . . Christie will mess things up so bad here, it should ensure that we'll never have another Rethug in the governor's seat. That is, if there's anybody left in NJ to vote.

:grr:

Indeed, it's Hell on earth.

13. I left NJ to seek a graduate degree elsewhere...
thanks to Christie Whitman, I left college in a load of debt (even with scholarships). I couldn't afford to have the government fully subsidize potentially 12 more years of school.

I giggle a little, though, every time my conservative in-laws and family members whine about this...they're all about education and now it's bitten them in the arse. NJ is screwed for awhile, which truly sucks.

so they organized against Corzine, got him out, now Christie too canceled the rebates.

Dumb asses.

Christie has filled important State positions with his cronies from the NJ Prosecutors office, ineffective and unqualified people (lawyers) in State Government as payback for being loyal to this shitheel.

NJ is fucked. As a life-long resident, I am seriously considering moving out.

The Democratic Party has become the enemy of the United States of America.

25. Hi neighbor!
I'm in BARHAMSVILLE - and it is just as redneck as it sounds. And wasn't the last election a kick in the teeth?
Bob 'asshat who took sexual orientation out of the discrimination bill' McDonnell, and Ken 'discriminate against gays all you want' Cuccinelli. McDonnell also gave back to federal employees what Kaine took away - Viagra. Yep, they are cutting funding to schools, welfare, you name it, but at least the repukes will be able to 'get it up'.

Good times...

28. Hello, there, Muffin! Yes, the last election was unreal--all the idjits
at work, talking adoringly about their RW choices. And when they get it in the neck, it'll be all Obama's fault!

Barhamsville -- dang, I had to look it up! -- you're just down the road a bit, into real redneck hell.

Go into the "Virginia" forum, if you haven't already, and makes yourself known to Midlo -- there has been talk about having a meeting of all the DUers in Richmond and surrounding areas. I'd love to meet you.

So we'll have plenty of happy republicans up in Franklin Lakes...their kids all go to private school anyway.

My town is tiny. Only 7,000 people and we have been cut $1,000,000. Our working class village is crushed.

26. If the Unions don't Strike or act in some manner what good are they?
Unions are formed to PROTECT workers. How can they do that if they don't STRIKE and call for National Support? If our Unions would just actually act in Unison and have a National Strike we could actually accomplish something. Unless there really is a UNION nothing is going to protect us from the GOP..NOTHING

And if they don't get their act together, there will be lots more of it in the Fall. I am livid at Democrats for throwing away the mandate given to them by the people, and for wasting all the work people did to get them elected.

NJ and Mass, this is what happens when you are too stupid to respect your base.
