Whaaaa?
Warning, FR link, you will understand my confusion.

Alright for those who will not under any circumstances go there.

There is a Fellow member of that community who is ill, and they are asking for donations via fund raiser.

I am not making fun of the person who is ill, I am just confused, why they would be so vehemently against health care reform, when it could help so many, including their own.

1. because they see charity as the solution
probably because it makes them feel better, but I don't know.

I've given up thinking they will make sense on just about any of their positions.

3. You have to understand that these are the same POS that got Andy's Medicaid suspended
when he was dying.

5. They are not asking for money for medical treatment...
but costs incurred while being away from home. I don't know that health care would cover these additional expenses.

MD Anderson is one of the best for cancer treatment, and I can understand why he would want to go there for treatment. I wish him well. Cancer is a horrible thing to go through.

"Jeff has good medical insurance, but the four month stay in Houston is going to require significant expense beyond his means including an apartment very close to MD Anderson with handicap services and gated for security. His rehabilitation will be a major effort and will not come cheaply, either in terms of pain and effort or cost. Jeff has an additional $1,000 per month he is applying in addition to maintaining his household in Idaho while he is gone. But for he and his wife Gail to stay in Houston for the four months is going to cost between $2,200 and $2,500 per month more than he has."
