Rachel Maddow gets no apology from Scott Brown - Boston Herald
Rachel Maddow tweeted about this today:

Rachel Maddow gets no apology from Scott Brown
By Hillary Chabot
Saturday, March 27, 2010

http://news.bostonherald.com/news/politics/view/20100327rachel_maddow_gets_no_apology_from_scott_brown/srvc=home&position=6

Upstart GOP U.S. Sen. Scott Brown refused to stand down in his war of words with liberal talking head Rachel Maddow yesterday as his campaign ignored her demand for an apology even as she doused rumors of a potential 2012 matchup.

“It looks like the ad was written by the (Democratic National Committee),” said Brown spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom of the full-page newspaper ad Maddow published yesterday denying rumors she’d campaign against Brown in 2012.

Bay State resident Maddow told the Herald Thursday that Brown fabricated the widely circulated rumor - despite the fact that the scuttlebutt first appeared on a Facebook fan page and was fueled by Massachusetts Democratic Chairman John Walsh....

Maddow also told the Herald that Brown should apologize for “(making) money off my name and likeness.”

Fehrnstrom shrugged off Maddow’s demand for an apology yesterday and continued to fan the flames of a potential Maddow run, saying: “I think Rachel Maddow would be an interesting candidate. The problem she would have is that winning requires more votes than she has viewers.

.........

Rachel's Tweet: "Here's @ScottBrownMA saying Democrats must have written my I'm-not-running ad: http://is.gd/b1JPN This is now officially bizarre."

Rachel we have your back! Keep it coming and don't back down! In the end they (GOP) accuse others of what they are doing themselves!

:applause:

1. Bad move by Scott Brown.
Rachel has her own TV show that's on 5 nights a week (plus reruns), plus her occasional appearances on MTP, Bill Maher and other MSNBC shows.

Scottie gets the once-in-a-blue-moon slot on Stupid Pet Tricks.

Who's gonna win that media battle?

Careful, Scott, tougher men than you have been but at the knees by the great Dr. Maddow.

You go, Rachel!

5. Wouldn't it be just the irony if Rachel did decide to run? Wow!
I would hate to lose her on the TV though. She is magnificent!

12. Eventually, just like Al Franken, she will run
It's in her blood. That said, they are just trying to use her as a fundraiser. Not cool.

13. I was thinking the same thing.
Fuck it, Rachel. Run against him and make him a has-been. Apparently that's the only thing that will shut him up.

Sure 1776Forever, you'd hate to lose her on TV but can you imagine her on the Senate floor? That's a trade-off I'm more than willing to make.

Think Wellstone.

It is just that we have so few voices out there telling the truth! What ever she choices I am so glad she is there in any way, just as long as she is speaking for us!

28. Heh, maybe she could do both.
Can you imagine a Senator with a daily TV show giving us the inside scoop on the asshats in the chamber? Talk about holding their feet to the fire.

If a daily show would be too much, I'd settle for a weekly one-hour show. She could comment on what had gone on in the Senate that week. I really hate to toot my own horn but the more I think about it, the more I like the idea.

Maybe we need to get a "Draft Rachel" petition going.

10. Pick a fight with a national cable television news anchor
Get wingnut points for poking the liberal media (not to mention the "big sexy man" putting the lesbian in her place), raise money off the "feud," get free national exposure every time she mentions it.

Eh, I guess he figures he's only got this short stint anyway, might as well make the most of it.

11. You can see it in Scott Brown's eyes, he's like a shell-shocked brain dead mim-bo
He has nothing, and so he is willing to say anything to keep people from understanding how vacuous his mind really is; fact I bet there's an echo in there:

Dateline Boston Herald
'Open secret': Voters expect more from Scott Brown than media catfight

To quote the great political philosopher Miss Peggy Lee: “Is that all there is?”

Is engaging in a catfight with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow the great promise of our “Senator 41”?

Are we supposed to believe this is somehow part of Scott Brown’s plan to return government back to us little people? Assuming he has a plan, that is.

Or could it be one way for the Tea Party’s dreamboat to get back in the good graces of all those angry white folks who felt confused and betrayed when the Galahad from Wrentham veered left to vote for an Obama jobs bill?

I wonder if Mrs. Brown is still laughing like the ole grey ginny she was when her husband tried to pander away their daughters in public

18. than she has viewers, oh ho ho, he's SO funny! Senator Vain would get crushed if she ran against him
I hope she keeps embarrassing him... it's not hard! Just play the clip of him offering his daughters up for prospective dates - to their shock & horror!

Is this ANY surprise from a "senator" (using that term loosely) who years back voted against --- health care for 9/11 recovery workers, the rights of raped women to sue, and a woman's right to choose? He's a vain former nude model pig - and I certainly hope whomever he runs against kicks his DUMB arse!

K&R!

22. I agree - Why let this idiot GOP puppet get away with lies! It is damn time to stand up to them!
She doesn't have to answer to anyone but herself and her station and I am sure she has cleared it with MSNBC before she does anything. Rachel is so smart that Scott Brown doesn't even know what he is facing! Go Rachel!

21. Time Now For Rachel To Cool It...
It's obvious that Brown is playing this for all its worth. Her coming out and refuting him gave him the "see, I told ya so" attitude and has just kept this non-story going longer. Kudos to Rachel for calling him out on his brazen games playing and lying, but there's no more to be gained here. Rachel's said her peace, now time to ignore the little shit and let him shadowbox.

23. That is your opinion - I think it is time to stand up to these GOP liers!
Why let them get away with more lies? They are the Party of Lies, Lies, and more Lies! This just goes along with all the other BS from Hannity, Rush, Beck, Cantor et al, they all are saying the violence and hate filled attacks are all just lies becasue they are using their time proven Rove ladden argument that is accusing others of what they are doing themselves!

They seem to take their que from Joseph Goebbels:

http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Joseph_Goebbels

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Joseph Goebbels
