During Bush's entire presidency, we never acted like this.
And we had a hell of a lot better reasons to be angry than these assholes have.

Obama has only been in office 14 months and we've had idiot GOP Congressmen shouting "You lie!" and "Baby killer!" and deranged Tea Party conservatives threatening the lives of Democratic politicians. What the fuck are they so angry about anyway?!?

We're entering some very ugly times. I fear for the future.

They didn't say a word for 8 years as this Country went down the tubes and now they're in the streets?

27. Or running into a war with/occuppation of based on lies. And billions in tax cuts for the richies.
Hmmmf and poor patsies are doing the dirty work, poor in that they won't be able to post that bail money. They'll be waiting on Momma to send the lawyers, guns and money or cowering in her basement waiting for the police to come and get them.

6. They want to be told what to do.
But they want to pretend that they want freedom.

Thus, you get automaton idiots, who will follow orders.

Brownshirts are not exactly an out of bounds metaphor, IMO.

7. Didn't a man get arrested just for asking Dick Cheney
a question at a political rally? As I recall, the man was very polite, made no threats and certainly had no weapon.

And weren't a man and woman thrown out of a political rally because someone discovered a Dem bumper sticker on their car?

8. Because we were powerless
Powerless to stop Diebold ~ they were just overwhelmed this time but they are still in gear IMO

Powerless to win in the Supreme Court ~ still control it

Powerless to stop Mission Accomplished ~ MSM told us it was so and we could do nothing about it.

Powerless to get them to do anything during Katrina ~GW controlled that one completely. See the differnece in Haiti

They held the POWER for everything from Blackwater to control of the MSM

They STILL control the MSM and that is one powerful Hold On America.

9. We knew this was coming.
Hell, those of us who went to the peace marches saw their ugliness then. We knew this was coming when a Democrat was set to be President. We damn well knew it was coming when Barack Obama was that President. They are the same old assholes referred to as 'brownshirts' in the 1930's. They're the ones who herded Jews into cattle cars and shipped them off to the camps. They're the same assholes who destroyed most of the works of the Rennaisance and imprisoned and killed our early scientists. They like to sort human beings like they would their dirty laundry, stamping sentient beings according to their ignorant 'value' system. They're that segment of human 'civilization' who will always be scared shitless of anything different so they try and destroy it, stripping the world of beauty and progress. I guess they are a part of this slow, painful evolution (and the reason for it), but it's a part I could do without, thank you.

14. Well said.
I'm thinking that we're living in scary times....and it's not the "terrorists" that have me scared. It's the Palins, Bachmans, Boehners, Becks, etc, etc. who are responsible for firing up the un-hinged masses out there. It's like lighting a powder-keg.

17. You are damn right when you say we knew what was coming.
One of the biggest reasons I admired Obama was his willingness to take on this shitfuck. And hell yes, they recently did a replay of Kristallnacht http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_of_the_broken_glass They are the Nazis.

15. I was reading your post...
And at first I thought you were talking about Democratic reactions to Obama.

Considering the shit we fling at the man, you can't be too surprised by what the Republicans are throwing. I think it's an even degree of separation on a sliding scale.

16. The GOP is stuck: this is their base; they lovingly handcrafted it themselves over
thirty years, using a bit of (what they thought was) bean-counting genius, from time to time

The GOP carefully collected the racists and the gaybashers and the xenophobes and all manner of other borderline elements, because they could reliably whip them into a frenzy around election time

We damn well have call this crap what it is, stand up, and organize against it

24. Remember the shit back in the McCain/Palin campaign - People
in the crowd screamong,"Kill him", etc, about Obama. The racist lies used by the GOP in that campaign are still believed as fact by many on the right - there are a great percentage who believe Democrats are either willing agents of some mysterious foreign power working to take over "god's America" or stupid blind sheep following the hypnotic Obama and his "handlers" on the road to communism...You know, like health insurance regulation...

25. Maybe if we HAD, "W" might not have been re-elected in '04!
Faced with an unwinnable war AND relentless street and campus anti-war protests, LBJ decided not to run for a second term. The tea-baggers use MSM today, like "we" did back in the '60s. Cindy Sheehan captured Media attention by physically camping out at Crawford, more of this type of protest, in every city, near every military base, would have made an impact.
