Well, I saw the doc for my three-year checkup and he says I don't have to see him again for six months, seeing as how THERE IS NO SIGN OF CANCER!!! Yes, I'm dancing on air and experiencing intermittent bouts of giggling.

And my doc is very enthusiastic about the legislation that was passed last night. He is of the opinion that it will help millions of people, and he's very happy about that.

On his way out of the exam room, he patted me on the head and called me his "little protestor," and with a grin and a wink he sent me on my way.

For those of you who extended prayers, good thoughts, positive energy on my behalf -- THANK YOU! I know you join me in rejoicing for those Americans who will now have a chance to get the same kind of good news I just received. I am so very, very proud of us!

Every doctor I talked to wanted the bill to pass. They all wanted much more, but they think this is good. I talked to plenty of them in the months before my mother died in January.
