Help me debunk these two claims:
From Facebook friends:

"We both have jobs. We can't afford health insurance from a regular company, Obama's wonderful plan doesn't kick in till 2014, but I'm paying for it now. Tell me how this helps me? I don't want to pay for something I can't use. I feel that's stupid, and it actually angers me a great deal."

"Don't worry you'll be denied plenty of health care when this plan runs out of money and the doctors office looks like any other inefficient wasteful government bureaucracy."

"Folks that can afford their own insurance can keep it for now. People with the so called Cadillac plans will have to pay taxes on them. All the people that can't afford health care will be grouped into the government co-op where they will get free or subsidized health insurance."

My wife is telling me her right wing FB friends are all over the place.

Her aunt is in tears because she believes all the crap Beck tells her.

I swear, this is not over yet.

no taxes unless you are making over 200K a year as and individual and 250K a year for a couple

send them this and ask them how they are paying for it now

Edit to add

Doctor's are still private, so are the insurance companies. Tell them we can cut subsidies to large corporations instead of letting people die. The money is there if we want it to be.

5. "government co-op"?
What the hell are these idiots talking about? What is that, some kind of internment camp? The sad thing is, when their worst fears don't come true, somehow they will believe their GOP heroes stopped the evil Democrats.

6. Just tell them they are wrong, and you won't bother arguing because they'll figure it out eventually
We only to persuade them when we lose. When we win, they just have to catch up.

10. They are incredibly stubborn in their beliefs
Even when you tell them what the bill has in it, written black on white, they don't believe it.

Absolutely incredible.

11. Yeah, and the worst part is that in ten years they'll claim it was their idea
and they'll fight to defend it against any changes and updates we need to make to it then.

Everything conservatives defend as the way things have always been was once an idea liberals had to push past conservatives of old. Even their religion.

7. You're talking to people who've been corrected about 50 times before but still tow the line.

Fuck them if they can't read. We got a real conservative solution to the problem because the moderate (Public Option) and progressive (single payer) got shot down even though I am pretty sure the former would have worked.

They should be cheering.

Dumb fucks.

9. I guess like this:
Edited on Mon Mar-22-10 02:20 PM by SPedigrees
Obama's wonderful plan doesn't kick in till 2014, but I'm paying for it now. Tell me how this helps me? I don't want to pay for something I can't use.

I guess if you expect to die before 2014, it won't help you. (You might also quote the list of benefits that take effect immediately.)

Don't worry you'll be denied plenty of health care when this plan runs out of money and the doctors office looks like any other inefficient wasteful government bureaucracy.

Has this happened to folks on medicare or VA health care?
