The Washington Times now wants Obama IMPEACHED...
...for some reason.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/mar/19/impeach-the-president/

"Mr. Obama is willing to devour his presidency, his party's congressional majority and - most disturbing - our democratic institutional safeguards to enact it. He is a reckless ideologue who is willing to sacrifice the country's stability in pursuit of a socialist utopia.

The Slaughter Solution is a poisoned chalice. By drinking from it, the Democrats would not only commit political suicide. They would guarantee that any bill signed by Mr. Obama is illegitimate, illegal and blatantly unconstitutional. It would be worse than a strategic blunder; it would be a crime - a moral crime against the American people and a direct abrogation of the Constitution and our very democracy.

It would open Mr. Obama, as well as key congressional leaders such as Mrs. Pelosi, to impeachment. The Slaughter Solution would replace the rule of law with arbitrary one-party rule. It violates the entire basis of our constitutional government - meeting the threshold of "high crimes and misdemeanors." If it's enacted, Republicans should campaign for the November elections not only on repealing Obamacare, but on removing Mr. Obama and his gang of leftist thugs from office.

It is time Americans drew a line in the sand. Mr. Obama crosses it at his peril. "

Can anyone else figure out how any of this adds up to impeachment?

Seriously, why is anyone even mentioning the Washington Times here anymore?

11. First of all, the word "Obamacare" is becoming like "homicide bombers"
Anytime I hear the word I immediately discount the rest of what the person has to say because he/she/it is a fucking idiot.

And secondly, I thought the moonie paper had gone down the shitter or at least was circling the drain.

5. If the Republicans should win the majority in November in either house...
We will see non-stop investigations aimed and impeaching him. It will be like Clinton all over again, and it won't stop until Obama end his times as President or they force an impeachment and trial in the Senate.

For Republicans, impeachment has nothing to do with high crimes and misdemeanors. For them, impeachment is a political act.

6. It doesn't.
Repubs were calling for impeachment from the day he was sworn in for a hundred different reasons. "He messed up the oath." "He wants to indoctrinate our kids." "He wants to steal our guns." I'm through caring about what they have to say.

17. I thought that the Dems dropped the "demon pass" procedure
Edited on Mon Mar-22-10 11:34 AM by Proud Liberal Dem
and had their up-or-down vote (not that using it would've been illegal/unconstitutional mind you). Or was the "Slaughter Solution" something else entirely? Is the Times behind the times?

They held an "up or down vote", just like the Pubs wanted. Four of them, in fact.

21. Well, this newspaper should know about ideologues,
since they are owned by one.

Nothing makes me laugh more than to read a tantrum about preserving democracy and a Constitution in a publication owned by a man who claims to be the "monarch of America."

I'm having trouble getting the original article.

Is he talking about one of those things the Republicans used about 200 times over the last 15 years?

24. Yep. It is some procedural rule to pass a bill that they didn't end up using.
As though what the house does is something the Executive branch is responsible for.

Guess they are willing to do anything!

32. The Repukes opened the door by saying that a POTUS can only by impeached by way of an indictable
offense.

THey used that defense for Nixon, and used it for Clinton (he lied to a federal grand jury about his affair with Monica Lewinksy, thus indictable).

So, what indictable offense has Obama committed? Let them first state that, so all the lawyers can weigh in on if it is truly indictable.

34. Their point is moot as well as stupid
The bill was not passed using deem and pass and even if it was it would not have constituted an impeachable offense.
