I'm not sure that I'm in favor of this substitute-for-reform, and I'm certainly not in favor of Scott Brown. But, if it weren't for Scott Brown's victory here in MA, the "Democrats" would still be pretending to do something, blaming all problems on obstructionism from Lieberman and the other Republicans.

As soon as Brown won, the "Democrats" realized that pretending wasn't good enough - they had to actually do something. (And as long as it wouldn't kick in until after the 2012 election... hey, that could work!)

So, he we are. I sure as hell hope this bill is a raging success, we'll know in six years or so.
