Tomorrow
Tomorrow afternoon I have my three-year checkup with the oncologist.

This past week I've been Xrayed, CTscanned and mammogrammed. This past week I also participated in a pro-healthcare reform march and spoke at the rally; after the rally, we went to our Representative's office and spoke with her staffers. This was how I chose to spend my 62nd birthday, so it was sweet in the extreme when Betsy Markey announced her support for the bill.

I really have no idea what to expect from the doctor, other than the good conversation we usually enjoy along with the really bad jokes he loves to tell. At the very least, when I tell him how I spent my birthday he'll give me a hug. And after today we'll have a bit of lively additional conversation, because my oncologist is a Democrat.

4. Good luck. I'm sure everything will be fine.
My cardiologist is also a Democrat. Makes for better conversation than blood pressure and cholesterol.

10. You will be on my mind and I'm sending the best possible thoughts
and hopes.
And a very happy birthday belatedly. It's nice to have a doctor who knows and understands the periphery of what you're about, and can talk to you about it.

I switched to a Democratic Dentist, just because I could not stand the R one but tolerated him. When he asked me right after the election if I thought "this guy" would be re-elected he turned into immediate toast.

Happy belated Birthday, and I will wrap you in pink light tomorrow.
