How politically popular is this health care vote? Obama up 7 points today at Gallup
Edited on Sun Mar-21-10 05:12 PM by louis c
Drudge heralded the Obama slide when he was down two points two days ago. However, on the 3 day moving average, the President shot up to a plus 7 in just one day and 9 points over a three day period. The only major issue during this time frame is the Health Care vote.

My take on all of this is that the Dems are coming home, even Stupak. We have beat each other up over the details, but we know which side we're on. Watch the polls as this bill passes, gets fixed, then signed into law. It's the politically smart move as well as good for the country. The bill passing is in our self interest in that the scare tactics will be shown for exactly what they are as the bill becomes law and then becomes more and more popular as people see the advantages it brings to their families. It's not perfect but it is a damn sight better then the status quo.

2. It's almost like people don't care about the process, just the result
Well, that can't be right.

3. A lot of Americans simply like to see shit get done.
Unfortunately, sometimes it doesn't matter whether it's good or bad shit - they just love decisive leadership and they love to see results. This will be very good for the Democrats and not so good for the RacistRepublicanHomophobes.
