I am not against this bill overall, but this bill is too much like Medicate Part "D" that is a good part of the reason we got where we are.

Like this HCR Medicare Part "D" helped people, but at a HUGE cost while filling the Pharmacy coffers.

We simply cannot afford to keep doing this. We just sink ourselves in the long run.

1. Good point.
This is one reason why we spend twice as much on health care as other industrialized nations, and yet are the only one of them that does not have universal coverage.

2. i believe we're going to see average life expectancy decline in the us within the next
10 years if this keeps up.

it's already occurred in some minority populations here. and average height has declined as well.

both health indicators, both indicative of growing inequalities.

4. One of the problems in terms of cost of Medicare Part D was the fact
that it wasn't paid for.

That's how we got to our deficits that we are swimming in now; that and the wars
and the Tax cuts....none paid.

I wrote this about a little over a year ago....

I do think that the current health care reform will be tweaked. It won't stay as it is.
In fact, I am sure of it.

6. Medicare Part D is a badly flawed bill...
there is no fix in the works to fix the entire bill. Part D covers SOME meds but not all.

Congress seldom, if ever, revisits bills to see that flaws are corrected.

7. As flawed as it is, Medicare Part D means my Mom can afford her medications
It needs the ability for the govt to negotiate drug prices added to it, as well as the closing of the donut hole. But my Mom probably wouldn't be alive without Part D.
