Rep. Ryan angry that Dems 'abused confidentiality' of CBO
By Jordan Fabian - 03/18/10 10:58 AM ET

House Democrats "abus{ed} the confidentiality" of the Congressional Budget Office by releasing a preview of their cost estimate of the healthcare bill, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said.

Several Democratic leaders said Thursday that the CBO found that the bill will reduce the deficit by $130 billion in its first ten years and will cost $940 billion, but the figures were officially issued by the nonpartisan budget office.

Ryan, the ranking member of the House Budget Committee, said that in the absence of an official score, Democrats tried to use leaked figures to spin the healthcare debate in their favor.

“The Congressional Budget Office has confirmed that there is currently no official cost estimate. Yet House Democrats are touting to the press – and spinning for partisan gain – numbers that have not been released and are impossible to confirm," he said in a statement. "This is the latest outrageous exploitation by the Majority – in this case abusing the confidentiality of the {CBO} – to pass their massive health care overhaul at any cost."

5. If the Dems claimed something that won't be in the report, then they are at risk.
If not, then no harm, no foul. Repukes simply HAVE to have something to gripe about for political purposes -- have something, or make something up, that is.

7. Better call the whaaaa-ambulance
Ever watch a game where a team is losing, and getting kind of humiliated at the same time? And one or more of the players on the losing team starts griping at every call or non-call? Until finally one of them gets pissy enough he takes a cheap shot at one of the opposing players? We're watching well over 200 pissy players for the Republicans right now. They put all their chips on stopping this bill, and even though the end result isn't all that good (yet, crossing fingers), they know they've had their milk shake drunk down to the bottom of the glass.

Look for more whining just like this in the week to come. And enjoy it.
