net pay = ZERO..(the perils of renting from "the boss".
My son actually had a job like this once.. he was a poor struggling single guy, and his boss rented him a room (probably an illegal apt)..where he worked (no commute ..:)..)

anyway.. when the boss hit a rough patch, he laid everyone off, closed the place, and bailed on everyone.. of course that meant my son lost his job and his home ./.all in one fell-swoop.

4. sounds illegal.
i don't think you can take money out of a paycheck for something like that without a court order. nice of him to put "rent" on the paycheck, that would be useful evidence.

6. If the employee agreed to rent a company-owned house/apartment
and agreed to have it deducted from his/her pay, it's probably legal..
