Wow -- now here are some scary folks!
Edited on Tue Jan-30-07 08:28 AM by theHandpuppet
I was conducting a google search for the printing traditions of the Netherlands (long story) when this link popped up:

http://members.aol.com/XPUS/index.html to "The Expansionist Party of the United States"

The initial article to which I was directed discussed making English the official WORLD language, but when I backtracked to the root source I discovered the homepage for these "expansionists". Unreal. You've got to read it to believe it.

1. A "Radical Center" group?
Are they calling themselves "moderates"? They literally want to take over the world. They can torture the language all they want; they're not even as "moderate" as Adolf Hitler.

4. Are they related to PNAC somehow?
I sniff the neocons vulgar scent in this:

"XP does not pretend to know what makes the U.S. work. We just know it does, and we are certain we can extend the dynamics that make it work to other areas.

"Those dynamics expand as we expand. If we expand to Palestine, Arabs and Jews will make peace there because we will make peace between them. If we annex India and Pakistan, their peoples will rediscover how much unites them and put aside what divides them. If we annex the two Irelands, the "troubles" there too will end. Because the United States is magic."

And this:

"The Pentagon was right when it said, in 1992, that we must prevent the rise of any other superpower."

Whoever the hell they are, they're badly in need of some heavy duty meds and vacation time in a padded cell.

6. Neocon-dominionists, methinks
It all smacks of the same school of global domination. Of course, the Nazis felt the same way about their inherent "superiority".

8. "We're so special, everyone should be like us" turned into foreign policy
Yeah, it takes a special kind of arrogance to think that way. It's belonged to other countries in the past, they all thought they were the bee's knees too at the time, exporting their very special ideals to the "uncivilized" world, thinking themselves the cure to all ills, and invincible, and for a while they were. But they all got whittled down to size when they overreached, as arrogant empires always do.

9. Yep, the history books are full of 'em
And it would appear there's no end to the folks who haven't taken their history lessons to heart. Hell, the PNACers probably use this "expansionist" crap as a primer. You have to wonder about the psychological makeup of folks who think they're so inherently superior they believe it's in the best interests of people everywhere that they dominate the world. Funny coming from a country that is largely comprised of the rest of the world's discards. Ha-ha!
