Obama in a bow tie?
Edited on Wed Mar-17-10 09:37 PM by Atticus
I'm sorry---I can't really "prove" what I'm about to say, but I truly believe it.

The anti-HCR protestors who "flooded" the capitol yesterday (all 300 or so of them) carried the usual outrageous signs and placards.

Several carried identical---apparently mass printed---signs which depicted President Obama getting into a COFFIN. Under the caricature were the words "Kill The Bill".

And, President Obama was shown wearing a bow tie.

I'm white. I live in Illinois. I lived in Chicago for three years while going to school.

When I saw those signs, I knew INSTANTLY what they were intending to portray: Obama is a---"Black Muslim".

Except when wearing a tuxedo, the man has NEVER been seen in a bow tie. The men of the Nation of Islam, however, headquartered in Chicago, where Obama was a community organizer and "palled around with terrorists", all wear bow ties, as did Elijah Muhammed.

I wonder who was responsible for these signs. Whoever they were, they were racist bastards.

Michael Steele---have you sunk this low? Is this the work of "rogue elements" in the RNC? "I'm shocked---SHOCKED, I tell you, that there are racists in the GOP!"

Michelle Bachman, did you----nah, this is somewhat nuanced. It is too sophisticated for Miss "Don't pay your taxes."

Dick Armey and his "Freedomworks"? Likely not. I don't think anyone paid him and he only climbs into the back seat for money.

Whoever---I would like the cowardly knuckledraggers to take off their hoods and face the public with their obnoxious racist bullshit. But, that would take guts.

3. As you said, yourself, they'll never show their faces. Well, do you remember the...
...guy at the Palin rally with the Obama/Monkey sock puppet thing?

He's one of those. You almost never see them coming out right and showing their true nature because of how incredibly cowardly they are.

Just know they live miserable lives of fear and hopefully that shortens their lifespan in some considerable amount.

They exist to embolden the rest of us to fight against such...filth.

5. I did not get that same read, besides, bow ties are for geeks and freaks
Edited on Thu Mar-18-10 02:41 AM by ProgressiveProfessor
Outside of formal wear, no one except geeks or freaks wear them. That is not an original sentiment, but it sums it up nicely.

Nation of Islam is on the radical religious fringe and seems almost right wing in many of its practices. With out Farrakhan's showmanship, they would have been gone by now. They won't last much past his death.

6. Atticus, I think you see what you see and know what you know. Subliminal messages are just that...
... like the so-called dog-whistle messages. Some people (such as you) are simply more consciously aware than others of the message being sent.

These astroturf protestors are not funny, and their puppeteers know exactly what they're doing. x(
