$70M in prescription drugs stolen in US heist
Associated Press, 03.16.10, 10:13 AM EDT

ENFIELD, Connecticut -- Authorities say prescription drugs worth tens of millions of dollars have been stolen in a brazen, well-planned heist at a pharmaceutical company warehouse in Connecticut.

The FBI has been called in to investigate the theft early Sunday at the Eli Lilly ( LLY - news - people ) warehouse in Enfield, a northern Connecticut city that borders Massachusetts.

exact number and type of drugs were still being established Tuesday, but a spokesman for Eli Lilly says they were worth $70 million. He says no narcotics or painkillers were taken.

Enfield Police Chief Carl Sferrazza says the thieves cut a hole in the building's ceiling and rappelled inside, disabling the security system and loading pallets of drugs into a waiting vehicle.

12. Could they be connected to the NJ rappelling Best Buy thieves?
It's just so odd to have such similar type thefts taking place in the same part of the country within a short time of each other.

18. That is interesting. Especially the part where they say:
" high level of sophistication," Detective James Ryan, a police department spokesman, told NJ.com. "They never set off any motion sensors. They never touched the floor. They rappelled in and rappelled out."

Similar area. Similar method. High level of sophistication. CIA? LOL! Trained in Militia operations? Suspect they would need to have computers to communicate and carry out something big.
I was just kidding at first...somewhat.... but to be honest, these two thefts tied together sound like trouble.
