Did I Miss It ??? - Where Is Phase 2 Of The Senate Report of Pre-war Intelligence on Iraq
Maybe I've had some sort of monumental brain-fart, but did I miss the release of this thing???

I mean... we did win the 2006 election, right?

So... if it hasn't been released, why the hell not?

And if it has, would somebody kindly supply me a link?

Thanks in advance.

1. I don't know; did we all miss it? From wiki:
Two volumes of the phase II report were released on September 8, 2006: "Postwar Findings about Iraq's WMD Programs and Links to Terrorism and How they Compare with Prewar Assessments" and "The Use by the Intelligence Community of Information Provided by the Iraqi National Congress." The conclusions of these reports were that there was no prewar evidence that Saddam was building weapons of mass destruction and there was no evidence that Saddam had links to al-Qaeda.

Seems kind of anti-climatic...

2. You sure 'bout that?
Was there a Phase 2?

I thought there were two September reports:
http://intelligence.senate.gov/phaseiiaccuracy.pdf">Postwar Findings about Iraq's WMD Programs and Links to Terrorism and How they Compare with Prewar Assessments and http://intelligence.senate.gov/phaseiiinc.pdf">The Use by the Intelligence Community of Information Provided by the Iraqi National Congress.

I think there's an overwhelming case for reopening the whole issue, this time focusing on the wider Executive policy & management environment the much-maligned intelligence hacks had to operate in. We haven't even had a proper Phase 1 yet.

4. Wasn't There A Story A Couple Of Months Back...
That said that Rockefeller was gonna release the rest of the report, and that people in the White House would not like what it said???

Or was I just dreaming all that rot?

6. Wow... Talk About Timing... From Yesterday:
<snip>

It is imperative for Senator John Rockefeller, chairman of the Intelligence Committee, to finish two remaining studies on prewar intelligence that his Republican predecessor, Senator Pat Roberts, had no intention of completing. The first, on the errors made by the intelligence agencies in predicting what would happen after the invasion of Iraq, is expected to be finished next month. The final piece of the report will compare what administration officials said about Iraq with the actual information they had. Both reports are essential for understanding how this country got into this mess. Mr. Rockefeller will have to make sure the White House does not drag out the declassification procedure.

<snip>

From NYT editorial yesterday entitles 'Still Waiting For Answers'

:shrug:

And after that, they can investigate the NYT's complicity in the run up to war.

7. Promising...
"The final piece of the report will compare what administration officials said about Iraq with the actual information they had". Wow!

I bet the GOP's wishing it had rushed this out when it still had control.

If they string it out long enough it may appear just in time to do maximum damage in '08.
