DVR ALERT: Michael Lewis ('The Big Short' and 'Liar's Poker') will be on Charlie Rose tomorrow
He was on with Rachel a few minutes ago and did a double segment on '60 Minutes' last night.

Michael Lewis is an American contemporary non-fiction author.

After graduating from the Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, Lewis received an art history degree from Princeton University and a Masters Degree in Economics from the London School of Economics. He went on to write several bestselling books, including “Liar’s Poker”, “The New New Thing”, “Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game” and “The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game”.

Lewis is currently a contributing writer to the “New York Times Magazine”, a columnist for Bloomberg, and a visiting fellow at the University of California, Berkeley.

1. the 60 minutes thing was too short...catch a few older appearances on fora also
agree that michael lewis is probably one of the few people that can communicate complicated financial news in a mass media context...i hope everyone takes him seriously.

2. He scared the hell out of me when he was talking about how
unregulated the bond market was!! When things started going downhill back in 2008, I moved most of money in my 401K into bonds, thinking they were the safer bet. The portfolio value plummeted a good (near) 50%, and now it's back up to where it was at it's highest point, so I'll certainly consider myself fortunate compared to so many others.

He said that the stock market is actually highly regulated when compared with the bond market, so I'm now wondering if I should have even a dollar in bonds! :think:
