So Tom Brokaw has Karl Rove on yesterday's Meet the Mess,
speaking to the feces that blooms, regarding Deadeye Dick shooting his attorney in the face; that being a segment in Rove's book.

Does Brokaw ask Rove why Cheney wouldn't allow the sheriff's deputy to do his job and investigate the shooting until the next day? No

Does Brokaw ask Rove as to whether Cheney had been drinking and wanted to hide the fact? No

Does Brokaw mention that Americans aren't allowed to shoot each other in the face or anywhere else and stall an official investigation for an entire day? Hell no.

Regarding that incident, Brokaw only asked Rove; if he knew that Cheney could be so stubborn? That was it.

I thought Tom must have been casting a movie version of the Real McCoys while considering Cheney as a replacement for Walter Brennan.

Cream puffs and chocolate eclairs from the corporate media for Rove, Cheney etal.

5. There are, in fact, people in this country who want an end to democracy.

7. Not just an end to democracy
Essentially, there are those who want a rule by corporations with a nod to the Religious Right.

So, I am not surprised. As things stand now, I think Murrow would be disappointed that too many in his profession have become stenographers for the powerful.

10. I am discovering that these sentiments run deeper than just the rich.
There are middle-class people who want a return to royalism, because they are paranoid about other races/cultures and socialism.

13. I remember when Brokaw was the fresh face...
...of TV journalism. He started out strong, seemed to have the makings of a real newsman.

Then I remember, must have been 15 years ago now, seeing Amy Goodman confront him as he arrived for a Press Club event. He was evasive and snarky, and just brushed her off. That's when I knew he had gone over to the dark side. But I did watch him now and then over the years, just to be sure -- he had seemed so promising.

Yep, he stayed over on the dark side.
