Public Option, the Senate, and the House
Today I went to my Dem county convention, and asked Senator Tom Harkin about the public option. He told me that it doesn't have the votes in the House (the House mind you). Then I asked my Congressman (Leonard Boswell) the same question. He told me that the public option did have the votes in the House, but that it wouldn't happen.

WTF is going on here!?

2. How about they are all a bunch of paid shills! Most (if not all) Congress/Senate critters
are there for themselves and really don't give a crap about you and I (the little guy - Constituents).

3. It's the deal between the House and Senate to pass HCR
They had to get the Dem senators on line with reconciliation including those opposed or weakly supporting a public option.

The House is essentially writing the reconciliation measures for the Senate to pass after the House passes them. Thus no PO will come to them from the House.

4. +1000 .......and all this time we've been told Obama can't control Congress

Every real elbow he places is in the face of those attempting to accomplish the goal in which he claims to believe.

His interspersed press conferences in which he "talks tuff" to the corporate interests provide him the cover to pass legislation worse than anything the GOP could actually get away with.

:kick:

5. We don't share the same world view
Pres Obama has to work with the Congress he has not the Congress we wish he had. And personally I feel he's done a good job.

I don't disagree that the people who own and operate the country don't reside in the White House. But for that matter, they never have.
