Rachel Maddow nails the Health Companies to the Door.
They have paid for the complete defeat of health care.
Their goal is that absolutely no health care bill be passed.
If any health care billis passed, it will be considered a defeat by the health care companies.

We stand on the verge of passing the post progressive health care overhaul since Medicare. The Health care companies have bbought and paid for its defeat.

It is time we all got on board and supported the Democrats in Congress and the Senate. Whether you like it or not, this is not a Health Insurance welfare act.

1. You, and she, have got it exactly right.
We must pass this bill.

This is the moment.

2. This entire segment is nailing the entire story on the public square and telling the townsfolk
that there is a wizard behind their tea party curtain.

3. It is some of those Democrats also who stood in the way of HCR from the beginning
Both Nelson's, Nebraska and FLorida, lieberman, who isn't a Democrat, but the Democrats rewarded him, and continue to do so by letting him retain his chairmanships. Bayh from Indiania, stupak, and others

6. I have to ask ...
"The Health care companies have bought and paid for its defeat." ... and who did the buying? Where did all that lobbying money go? How many reelection campaign coffers have been filled to the top with the Insurance Companies/Big PHArma money? I really, really like Rachel but she is wrong on this, it's our members in congress and this administration that has been bought.

7. Rachel does some the best reporting I've seen since
Walter Cronkite was still on the news.

You may choose to disregard what she says. That is your choice.

8. I'm not disregarding what she is saying ..

and I agree that she does the best reporting. I just don't think the Health Insurance companies bear the brunt of the blame here, it takes two to tango, and all that lobby money went to line politicians pockets and for promises.

9. Actually, the insurance companies -- by law -- are required to make the most
profit they can for their shareholders. They're doing what they're supposed to do.

Our elected representatives are NOT doing what they're supposed to do, which is represent our best interests and work for US, not for payola.

11. What she showed wasn't that they maximized their profits...
She showed that the insurance companies have fought health care with a relentless determination to see that nothing is passed.

This does not jibe with the idea that it is a welfare bill for Health Insurance companies.

It shows this health care bill to be a real progressive bill opposed by the people that it will limit.
