Mitt Romney: Obama Health Care Plan NOT Like Massachusetts Plan
Source: Huffington Post

Romney refused to acknowledge that his plan was similar to Obama's. Though, as host Chris Wallace point out, on many key measures -- an individual and employer mandate, subsidies for those who would have trouble buying insurance, and minimum standards for coverage -- the two plans converged. The likely 2012 presidential candidate pointed out that the president's plan included cuts to Medicare and additional taxes. But both of those measures are designed, in part, to provide funds to keep per capita spending down -- something that the Massachusetts plan failed to do. Finally, Romney touted the fact that his plan included "no controls over insurance premiums, price controls," which provides some explanation for why premiums in the Bay State are the highest in the nation.

Romney just made me like Obama & the Senate's plan MORE--premium price controls? That sounds exactly like what is needed.

How did he sell people in Massachusetts on mandates without price controls? That is essentially blaming the people for not buying insurance rather than the companies for not providing an affordable and trustworthy product.

Thanks, Mitt! You did a better job of selling the Democrats bill than they did themselves.

3. The Romneycare Health Insurance Scam
was to cost me $490 per month with a $4000 annual deductible.

I told the state to shove the scam where the sun don't shine, and I'll pay the $1012 tax fine which is a lot cheaper.

Trust fund babies from the lucky sperm club living off Daddy's money and business connections should not be allowed in elected office. They have no f'ing idea of what it is like to live in the real world.

6. All I can say it its a sorry day when
Chris Wallace and Fox are doing a better job of pointing out republican hypocrisy than ABC, MSNBC, or CNN.

Oh yeah - Mitten's is an idiot. His frontal lobotomy and conscience-ectomy were the price he had to pay for being a republican candidate or President.

13. Don't you think Faux Snooze is doing this to cull Romney out of the presidential hunt?
Can't have anything remotely liberal in our policies. Can't connect our candidates's policies with those of Obama or other prominent Democrats.

Faux is just informing their knuckle-dragging sheep (now, there's an image I'd like someone to photoshop)that they don't want Mittens to be their presidential candidate in 2012.

20. If he ever had a conscience, he lost it quite young.
He's deceived or lied about everything he could possibly lie about, including marching with MLK, crying on his way to Harvard when the Mormon Church changed its policy about African Americans, etc.

If it weren't for turd, he'd be an empty suit.

7. Which is emptier, Romney's suit or $arah's skirt?
Talk about a couple of grifters. Sheesh! The people that conservatives "look up to" are so slimy - Romney, Palin, Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh - what a rogue's gallery of losers!

Edited on Sun Mar-07-10 06:18 PM by iamjoy
See, they're McDonald's... I'm McDowell's. They got the Golden Arches, mine is the Golden Arcs. They got the Big Mac, I got the Big Mick. We both got two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions, but their buns have sesame seeds. My buns have no seeds.

10. Stick a fork in his Presidential prospects.
Obamacare is Romneycare. Mittens is just trying to cover his ass with a gum wrapper now that those dim light bulbs finally lit up in the teabaggers' pea brains.

17. Ssh. SO far Obama and his people think that they have everyone fooled.
You don't want him out there talking more and more about cost containment, do you?

Most people think he means OUR cost containment, as in the Big Insurers would have to ramp down their over-pricing of everything.

But Obama only means how much it will cost the Federal government. And how much money we will have to suck some 500 billion bucks from MediCare in order to arrive at a "Deficit Neutral" kind of plan.

22. If you're over 55, your premium can't do more than triple. Doesn't that count as cost control?

Most of the fifty five year olds I know are either out of work, working part time, and/or barely holding on to a job they have held for years.

So technically it does count as cost control. The fifty somethings who own their own homes are screwed, because the only way they can get County paid MedeCal (in this state) is to offer up their house as collateral.

SO yes I gues it is Cost Control - just like throwing a few dozen sand bags in the Mississippi after Katrina counted as flood control. Doesn't help anyone at all, but the President is sure able now to run to his Big Benefactors and say, "See Mr Big Insurer, I kept my pledge to you. Now make that check out to Barack Obama, so I can run again in 2012."
